Well.... How we feeling
What's the vibe now after the ULL win?

Is Hall a little safer this morning?

What if he wins out to finish 5-7?

What if we lose the next two for 3-9?

I still think that even if we finish 5-7, if we start off next year really slow we're gonna be so much farther behind. I'm not sure we can keep him. Regardless some changes need to be made. Maybe you invest in some better coaches, but who's going to come to a program knowing the HC is on the hot seat.

I think the grit shown last night shows that the players haven't given up on him. I wish he'd handed over the play calling sooner, who knows where we'd be. I'm afraid we're going to mess around and burn Crawford's redshirt instead of developing him just to get wins to save the job.

I say we keep Hall, for financial reasons right now, but if he starts out next season the same way, he has to go.

We need to address the issues on offense (blocking and play calling) and the holes in the defense. I think it starts with two good coordinators.

Let Hall manage and if we don't produce a winning season prior to bowl season then he gone, but to get to where we need to be, we don't need to Tech this up. I mean the kids obviously love the guy and have bought in.

I feel even more that we’re on the right path. The year has been a major disappointment, but things happen. We can’t overreact, plus, as I’ve said, we don’t have a lot of choices. But the team has continued to fight throughout.; opposing coaches and commentators have remarked on this.
We have a foundation of young talent (only 12 seniors) and a nice class coming in. They seem to be happy with the staff and the team overall. There doesn’t seem to be a bad or defeatist attitude as I’ve seen on some teams that are losing.
Last night was really ugly, but they hung in there. Changing staff would be a major mistake at this point. And bit premature too I might add.

Ugly is an understatement.. It was who wanted to lose more 03-lmfao

Whatever the deal is with Wiles we need to address it and not burn the redshirt. I think Crawford has the ability to be something special. After he completed that first pass it was like he was renewed.

To gdunn's point, I feel like Crawford's shirt is gone... just to hopefully get the next two wins and save his job. I don't really agree with it, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen.

My biggest concern about keeping him would be that if we start next year 1-5, then what? We fire him mid season and we are in a worse position than we are now. I don't like that scenario at all.... of course there's always the chance that he turns the corner next year and we have a good year. Glad I don't have to make these decisions!

I feel like Hall's job is safe, but what about his desire to win or his OC's desire to keep his job? That may determine Crawford's redshirt.

It's a double edged sword, we have the talent..

Look at the games we've lost.

FSU was gonna happen, they seem to be a team on a mission.
Tulane was a winnable game, that should've been the clue to turn over play calling.
Arkansas State was a close game, but under the new system, could we had pulled it off, I'm going to say maybe, so if we didn't we were still sitting at 1-3. The next week was TX State and we came back on them, but if we had new playcallers the week prior we could've possibly won that one.

Then ODU, close game under Hall's calling. So let's say that now we're 3-3. South Alabama would've been closer in my opinion. Let's say they edged us cause it's South Alabama 3-4. App State might've flipped a different way, 4-4. Then the last two weeks we're 6-4.

All above is purely hypothetics and probably happened in a different timeline/universe.

Next season we won't have Gore. If there's staff changes and we come out 1-5, Hall has to go at the end of the season, no questions. The payout won't be as much and we can shop around. I hear OSU has a good OC.

Hall has likely saved his job no matter what, now.

His dumb*** didn't use Crawfords PT properly throughout the year. Wasted 2-3 of the 4 games he played in. There is no other choice now than to burn the shirt and start him the next two games. The experience he will gain will be well worth it for next season. We may even pull off another win (or two) with Crawford. Changes the entire outlook of the off-season, looking to next year. The players prefer Crawford as well and get amped when he is in the game.

The season is lost, except it is not. If Halls job is saved, he is still playing for some of the other coaches jobs. He is also coaching to keep his current players and recruits. He needs as much momentum as possible going into next year. Crawford is part of that and needs the experience.

I agree with everybody else above me. I think Hall is safe for now, Crawford will burn his shirt to prop up the staff, and hopefully next year is better.

I do hate the fact that Hall didn't hand over the play calling duties earlier. If he wanted to be OC, he shouldn't have applied for a HC job. I like Hall for the most part, just think it shows a bit of ego or poor decision making to continue as-is until AFTER the season is lost. That is concerning. Do I think he has a super huge ego? No, but maybe he hasn't surrounded himself with "wise counsel" that could have helped point out some of these problems earlier. Like everyone else, I wonder what the season would have looked like if he handed the play calling off earlier this season. I also wonder if last season would have been better with Hall focusing on the HC duties instead of splitting his attention between OC and HC duties. It takes a lot of effort to do one job proficiently, and twice the effort to do two jobs.

I think him handing off the play calling wasn't exactly his idea, it was suggested per someone else here.

I don’t think calling the plays has anything to do with ego (talking ego about coaches is like talking ego about politicians). It’s simply that it’s his system and he’s always called the plays and still wants to do it when it’s his team. I totally understand that.

In regards to Crawford: unfortunately y’all are probably right and the shirt gets burned. It’s going to piss me off though. It’s stupid. Heck, play that other guy some.

Where is Edwards?
