RE: Week 11 game thread
That Duke @ UNC game turned out to be the most competitive game of the day.

Best game for me was VT @ BC, best overall Miami @ FSU.

The Florida @ LSU game was interesting because LSU put up a record # of yards. 11.9 yards per play last I heard.

Yankees took a bath.

SU fans from outside NYC area boycotted the game.

Why, I thought y'all claim to be NY's team?

Frank Cignetti and most of the offense staff won't be at Pitt next season. He rivals Shaun Watson as bad OC hires by Narduzzi. Don't be shocked if Pitt hires current Akron HC Joe Moorhead to come in and rebuild that side of the ball. Moorhead has succeeded everywhere he was an OC and failed everywhere he was a HC. Smoke and mirrors.

When we are winning we are especially in basketball. NYers are pro fans first, they'll bandwagon on to whatever is the flavor of the day in college though.

Upstate NY Cuse fans boycotted traveling to NYC. SU sold the home game to the Yankees for a purported $7M. The local NYC Cuse fans mostly showed up but I bet many didn't buy tix the last few weeks.

It wasn't just your offense. Your defense was not great yesterday either. I hope #30 the eye gouger gets suspended. What a dirty ass play.

Yeah, that was dirty. But what a strange game from backwards summersaults to eye gouging to crazy fumbles to SU throwing the ball for less than 40 yards. For this game not to be a heated rivalry, strange things tend to happen when these 2 teams play each other. Remember the record seeting, no defense game, when these teams set the record for the highest scoring college fb game in history? I think that record still stands.

LOL, when was that?

That was 1916 Cumberland vs. Georgia Tech football game. There's a story behind it if you want to look it up.

Heisman still had the team run sprints after the game.

That's right. Today teams have to play other legitimate college teams.

Cumberland signed the contract. They had a team the previous year. They grabbed a bunch of players from other colleges.

Maybe they shouldn't have cheated against John Heisman's baseball team by playing a bunch of pros illegally against them. Then Heisman might have them negotiate out of the contract.

I watched that game. As Louisville was about to administer the knock out blow the officials blew a couple of calls to keep Pitt in the game, then the weather socked into conditions that favor an Appalachian mountain home team like Pitt or VT. Then a little bit of panic set in like it did for Clemson at Duke and "poof" they were too far behind.
