As far as burning redshirts at this point, is it worth it?
Since Redshirts can play up to 4 games, there are still games to burn for several players who can also keep the Redshirt. I’d like to see some game reps from those who haven’t played yet or who have played in less than 4 games. There are several talented players, such as Fauntroy or the transfer Woody, who are a bit mysterious in that they haven’t played yet but have already redshirted. It’s possible that some of these are injury or academics related.
But I’d like to see the D tackle from Trussville, although they may be aiming to put more muscle on him before throwing him into the pit. Same with Harris the fast but very thin FR pass rusher. Would like to see a few game reps this year from those type players, since we graduate most of our core DL this year. Also would like to see JUCO Nettles on the Oline get some game speed snaps, but he may have been jumped by Lepkowski who has been able to fill gaps in the OL thus far.
Yes, a bowl season would be incredibly valuable for the younger players on this team, and probably for talent retention. Players need to see how they benefit from staying with a Dilfer coached team.
Offense looks even better for next year if Jacobs returns to health and if they can fill Browns roles with a transfer/juco and land a couple of transfer TEs who can play alongside Payne immediately.
Next year defense…not so clear. Cupboard is already thin this year, but quite bare or extremely young at multiple positions looking ahead. Nose. DT. Safety. Rush end. MLB. MLB. MLB. Corners may be sound if they all return. Whoever our prior linebacker coaches were did this season’s team no favors with player recruiting and development.

I understand the redshirt rules. I’m not against playing young guys. I’m against burning red shirts last Saturday just because. If our freshmen are more ready to play than juniors and seniors, that speaks volumes about our depth in my mind.

It shouldn't.
I'd personally just like an official injury report of who's out. Maybe who's out for other reasons.
Did anyone notice Zeno going ballistic coming off the field on our final drive when we called TO? Was he calling an audible and the coaches stopped him? Unabashed Zeno fan here.

He saw a crazy mismatch that was about to get exploited.
Like darion said on the pod… the defense has looked better and made some key key plays, but there are some things from a higher level. , scheme perspective that have been inexcusable- such as allowing the leading receiver in the ncaa to be unmarked and left wide open, and/or placed repeatedly in one on one coverage which he will surely beat 75+% of the time. That and allowing a running qb, who is in the game just to do one thing, so come out of the back field unmarked for a 27 yard rushing td . Stuff like that is completely inexcusable, and is why I have almost no faith in our dc
That and the obvious collapses in the second halves which have been so painfully and blatantly obvious, especially the last two games.
