Georgia, LSU, and Tennessee have back to back "big" games. Georgia-Tennessee on Oct. 5 is going to be an issue but where else would you put it?

I like Alabama-Oklahoma and Georgia-Texas as both school's "Welcome to the SEC" games. Texas is booked until Sept. 28. Oklahoma is booked the first three weeks.

UGA-Tennessee is not the issue. UGA-Auburn current date is. UGA-Auburn needs to be on Oct 12. Have the bye before the Gators.

You really want to do at Texas, Tennessee, Auburn 3 in a row? I can do it if you really want the bye before Florida. I would assume Florida also wants the bye before Georgia so I'd have to move LSU-Florida to another date and some other game to October 19.

RE: 2024 SEC Schedule Proposed Dates
How about Auburn-Georgia on 11/2? It's then the week after Florida. In 2021, Georgia played Tennessee the week after Florida so it isn't unprecedented to have a big game the week after Florida.

Texas-Arkansas would move to Oct. 19. Texas would play Oklahoma and Arkansas back to back but Arkansas isn't exactly a tough opponent.

Georgia still has to play at Mississippi which likely would be a decent game. Sept. 7 is Tennessee Tech, Nov. 23 is UMass, Nov. 30 is Georgia Tech. Assuming Auburn is Nov. 2 and Oct. 19 is off limits, that leaves Sept. 21, Oct. 12, and Nov. 9. (Mississippi is scheduled Sept. 14). The first two games would give you a triple with Texas and Tennessee and Nov. 9 would give you a foursome of Florida, Auburn, Mississippi, and Alabama in a row! Pick your poison. Remaining games are Mississippi State at home and at Kentucky. Sorry, no Vanderbilt this year.

I would think that Coach Kirby would go for Texas, Tennesee, and Auburn in a row for next year. UGA's President Jere Morehead is on written record stating that he prefer the bye vs Florida, and I agree with him. The Florida game is the game of the year for UGA, and Auburn seems to prefer October to November. Tennessee is s team I'd rather face in November, because Tech (GT) is roughly on the same level as Ole Miss if not worse at times. But Tech does like their game against us in November because we (UGA) are their game of the year. Kind of like how Pitt or Michigan State view PSU.

Georgia:
8/31: Clemson at Atlanta, 7:30
9/28: at Texas, 7:30
10/5: Ole Miss or @Kentucky, 7:30
10/12: Auburn, 3:30
10/26: Florida at Jacksonville, 7:30
11/2: @Kentucky or home vs Ole Miss
11/16: at Alabama, 7:30
11/23: Tennessee
11/30: Georgia Tech, TBD

That's how I would do UGA

RE: 2024 SEC Schedule Proposed Dates
Of all the A vs. A matchups, the only unscheduled ones are Auburn vs. Oklahoma and Auburn vs. Texas A&M.

Assuming proposed schedule and current OOC commitments,

Auburn/Oklahoma can be: 9/28, 10/5, 10/19, 10/26, or 11/2
Auburn/Texas A&M can be: 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, or 11/23

Auburn and Texas A&M have OOC commitments on 11/16
There is only one ABC game scheduled for 10/5 and 11/9 so those would be ideal although 10/5 is the week before Auburn goes to Georgia so they might not want to play Texas A&M or Oklahoma the week before Georgia (not to mention it's the week before Oklahoma plays Texas).

If you're the 3rd best SEC game, would you rather play at noon on ABC or prime time on ESPN? Unless you do Oklahoma/Auburn 10/5, Texas A&M/Auburn 11/9, one of these games will have to the 3rd best game one other week.

RE: 2024 SEC Schedule Proposed Dates
Auburn's Oklahoma and Texas A&M games are added. I also now have 3:30pm and SNF games every week (the Florida-Florida State game is an ACC controlled game).

I currently have ABC games for 13 of the 16 SEC teams with only Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and South Carolina not currently having an ABC game. The noon ET slot is open though with the exception of Texas-Oklahoma and Miami-Florida. Would ABC be open to airing the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving Night?

I'm going to assume the November cupcakes can be moved. Over on Alabama's website they only list the Wisconsin game with a set date, the Mercer game on Nov. 16 isn't even listed.

If this is the schedule, Georgia would have SIX primetime games on ABC (Clemson, Texas, Mississippi, Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee) and that's not counting Kentucky and Florida at 3:30 (I'm pretty sure Georgia-Florida would not be allowed to be played in prime time).

Unless ABC can get Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson from CBS, best bet is Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit call SNF games and Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy the regular 3:30pm game announcer with them switching for Georgia/Florida, Texas/Oklahoma, and the Iron Bowl.

Gary Danielson can stay @ CBS. Consider him a welcomkng gift from the SEC.

RE: 2024 SEC Schedule Proposed Dates
Not sure if this counts as proposed dates or actual dates. It does come from ESPN but it isn't official. "The SEC plans to unveil the entire 2024 slate sometime in December"

https://www.espn.com/college-football/st...c-schedule

Not happy The Game is in September. 4-0 vs. 4-0 (assuming no byes for either team before then) just seems too early.
Alabama vs. Oklahoma the second to last game does seem exciting and probably good news for Auburn.
Texas-Texas A&M will now be Rivalry Week but it's Saturday, not Black Friday. So what will be the Black Friday game?

"All 14 existing SEC schools will play either Oklahoma or Texas in 2024."
