Agreed. Texas must have paid the refs off.

Living in Texas, i knew the UT bias was real. But man that was a blatant screwjob on that spot.

Proud of the Coogs. We have talent. Not sure about the coaching, buy DH made adjustments.

The back to back turnovers were the game, hard to be mad about the horrible spot after those wasted opportunity. Glad the team looked good but disappointed like they are I’m sure.

Well that and the 21-0 deficit to start the game. If coach can find a way to avoid doing that we’d be a pretty decent squad.

Same to you guys. Hate moral victories but I’m proud of the way both our teams today competed today. Looking forward to our meeting at the end of the year.

Don't forget Golden getting the facemask penalty that pretty much forced us to have to kick a field goal when we were driving for a touchdown.

Don’t be fooled by Dana holgerson, as bad a coach as he is , sark is even worse I mean my god look at the talent he has and he’s out coached by Dana with a lot less talent…
Texas will be looking for a new coach real soon I can only hope they come after holgerson

RE: ***Houston vs Texas Game Thread***
That game did not turn out the way I thought it would. The first quarter pretty much is what I expected the rest of the game to go. But, then, what? Adjustments?

After 21-0 longhorn favor, UH outplayed them 24-10. Held them to 3 points in the 3rd quarter and had only 1 penalty the entire game, albeit a very damaging penalty, to UT's 6. The very obvious bad spot at the end of the game, when it was pretty clear that UH was sending the game into overtime with a final TD, just added to the frustration to Cougar fans.

I think in 2 - 3 years we should see some decent respectable progress. My only concern is if we replace our head coach this may revert us back.

Holgorsen is 30-24 at Houston.

The previous 54 games before he took over, Houston was 38-16.

Of course, you could well be right, many times a school has fired medicore coach X only to hire even-worse coach Y. But still, I doubt Houston paid as much for those 38 wins that preceded DH as they have for his wins. And losses.

Revert us back to when we were good?

The defense started out solid for us. The offense has been the real hindrance to start the season. QB DSmith struggled with the passing game, many passes off the mark, but also many passes just plain dropped. He is slowly coming around and as he's gotten better, so has the offensive production and scoring. But he still has lapses in execution, prime example is the last throw of the UT game - WR was wide open, he just threw way behind him.
The D is still solid, but our DBs get burned too easily if the D line cannot hurry the QB into throwing the ball.

Looking back, I remember the preseason predictions on here ranged from cynical to being optimistic and going bowling at 6-6 (my prediction in fact), some even 7-5, and despite our horrible start to the season, we still have a chance to get there if they keep improving.

I just wish the team would start out with the same effort as they showed in the 2nd halves of the Rice and UT games. In both those games we spotted the opposition a 21 point lead... tough to overcome that.

Some argue that's squarely on CDH, but I'm of the opinion that since these are paid athletes we're talking about now, I think we should expect them to take a team seriously enough to play all 4 quarters, and not blame it on that the coach didn't tell them to do that.
