Maybe I'm being too hard on recruiting. I agree, it's not really a science. Especially in the MAC. & every program has players that were under-recruited.
The games overall have been very competitive despite the lack of talent & gameday experience. Syracuse has been the only disaster.

Good analysis todd.

I think we can end the bad streak vs Eastern

I thought your team played very well overall against us. You're young and yes you made some critical mistakes. But, you took us to the wire for sure.

I can definitely see you going 3-1 at the very least over your last four games. And, I'm hoping we don't have to play you up at your place next year!

Good luck the rest of the way!

This year was the back end of the MAC West-East home and homes. So I believe we'll be taking 2 years off to rotate to other cross division opponents.

Even though I'm operating on the "Low Expectations Model" (rarely disappointed, can only be surprised), I was disappointed after this game as I felt it was a winnable game. Once again, at key moments, lack of discipline cost us in terms of penalties killing drives. For a team with their record, I wasn't impressed with Ohio. They shot themselves in the foot several times, as we did.

There were some positives I saw but at least offensively, our lack of any deep threat hurts us. For a team without any star quality players, I applaud the guys for fighting and not throwing in the towel. I attribute that to coach Taylor.

Still hoping that the team finds its way and learns how to win, especially these close games. Beat EMU and CMU and we'll feel a little bit better. For a squad picked last in the MAC and touted as one of the worst in the country, we are not playing that way.

Buck up, Broncos. There are still a few W's left that can be earned. 04-cheers

Yeah, I think the talent level of this team is good overall. We are just lacking stars. The issue moving forward with free agency is that we'll never keep any stars. We send them up, and in return we get good P5 players who would be regular MAC starters, but are not impact players. And college recruiting is good enough that there is a limited number of star players at FCS to poach, mostly only overlooked guys who could be regular MAC or P5 starters.

Without impact players, a good team really needs to thread the needle to win, and we're not there yet. But yeah, we are not even close to the worst in the country.

I'm not going to dispute that stars are more likely to leave than they used to be, but saying they'll "never" stay is hyperbole. G5 programs do in fact hold on to their stars sometimes, and that's part of recruiting these days.

We attracted Marshawn back from transferring to Colorado. He had all the CU photo op pics taken with a Porsche and Louis Vuitton etc. It can be done.

It's not a good excuse b/c it affects the entire MAC.

But this season needs to end & recruiting isn't much better. Hard to find a bright spot. This is really bad. I didn't think it'd be this bad. 5 wins next year maybe?

Recruiting so far has been awful. 9th overall in the MAC. I can't remember the last time we were this low in the middle of the season. It's early but so far Taylor has struggled in the recruiting department.

Come back in December when it matters somewhat.
