Can the Broncos win? Will they at least cover?

I believe that Ohio is one of the top 3 in the league.

RE: Western Michigan +17 at Ohio
It wouldn't surprise me to see us cover the spread, playing Wolff as QB. Ohio has a good D -- but their O can spiral when challenged. Our D is getting bit by bit a little better as our new team treads on. But I mean, think about it for their O:

- Only scored 13 @SD-State. I know, it's on the road far away, and their starting QB got injured early. But their backup QB has had experience from last year and won a bowl for them. He's not lightyears behind their starter.

- Only scored 27 against against Long Island/FCS? Really?

- They beat Iowa St, yes. Held them to 7 pts -- very good, even though Iowa St's starter along with a few others were out due to food poisoning. But you hold them to a TD, but only score 10 at home? Where's the O? This is like WMU-level O when early in the season, and that's no exaggeration.

- They whipped BGSU & Kent State, scoring a lot of points. Very good. Kent State sucks, so not too much to chalk up there, but shows they're on the right track after surprisingly whipping BGSU and scoring tons despite BGSU having somewhat of a D.

- Loses to NIU. NIU has arguably the best D in the MAC. Ohio scores only 13, and gives up 23 to NIU whose O was seemingly worse than WMU's was early in the season, but Rocky righted the ship. But this shows that Ohio's D is not a brick wall.

So really, this all boils down to how well Ohio steps up, and how well we step up (also given that we've been losing a lot of games so this is a mental factor, going on the road).

It wouldn't be very surprising if we lose by 1 possession -- and wouldn't be all that surprising if Ohio basically wins by the spread.

It would be surprising if we beat them.
It would be surprising if Ohio wins by over 21.

RE: Western Michigan +17 at Ohio
Kent was truly our only good offensive game. BG game had 2 defensive scores and one short field after a pick. of course with the big lead, we could just run clock for the entire second half. Most are coming to realize our offense simply isn't what it was in 2022. There's no more waiting for us to find it; we just are what we are. The complete lack of explosive plays is astonishing. If we manage to grab a 2 score lead by late 2nd or early 3rd, just expect a ton of running to hold on. If I were a neutral observer, I like Ohio to win but WMU to cover.
