Respect
The occasion of the first MAC win seems a good time to say Thank You to our coaches and players. My impression is this head coach is a fine man, a football professional, someone with a genuine commitment to the school, his coaches and staff, and his players. And a background influenced by some of the finest coaching trees in the game.
This transition was always going to be tough. The player pool and schedule were both a challenge. The incoming veterans and newbies didn’t have the benefits of coming into an existing system. Everybody knew it was going to take time to get up to speed. Playing Syracuse, Iowa, Toledo, Mississippi State all away, all in a five game stretch. Only 2 Saturday home games.
I always remember the Bible reference going through the fire of adversity but emerging as the purist gold. This team is going through that now. I’m really impressed that the incoming veterans especially are buying in, fitting in, leading, becoming a strong unified whole. The play book is more available. We are finding ways to win.
I feel so thankful that all these people are willing to make this effort on our behalf. thank you, thank you, thank you! You are the best. All respect.

RE: Respect
Totally agree. Well stated.
I'm seeing improvement and buy in. Liking what I'm seeing even though I am using the low expectations model this year. Was always going to be a tough transition with a demanding schedule.
Cautiously optimistic on the rest of the MAC schedule. Although this team was picked to finish last, they are not playing the part of a bunch of losers. Starting to see more of what coach envisions his program to be.
Am anxious to see what the staff can do this coming year regarding recruiting and transfers through the portal.

RE: Respect
Good post, Ernie.
We have done better than I would've expected prior.
But it's a long season.

The Offense is fantastic. Love the improvement. Bourget is the guy, no question. Not sold on the Defense, we have the worst secondary in the MAC in my opinion. Bussell needs to be benched.

I still think he could be a nice, physical receiver. Cornerback is hard. He flashed the speed he still has on that QB sack he had Saturday. Seems like he could be a nice angry runner with the ball in his hands.

Yeah, barring a bad turn of events, Bourget appears to be our guy from here on out. Purely guessing but it's probably been since the Eleby days since a Bronco QB got the MAC W Offensive Player of the Week.
