Is Baylor one of those places where they will fire a coach midseason... or is Baylor AD Mack Rhoades too respectful?

two years ago, Aranda was the 2nd coming of Nick Saban, I doubt he gets fired.

I'll defer to our Baylor members on the boards to correct me - but from what I've seen/heard Aranda is very well liked by Rhoades and the administration in Waco for doing things the right way. Which I am assuming is a huge priority given the scandals under Art Briles.

My guess is that if he shows any improvement over the season he will get another year, but if not he'll probably be let go a few minutes after their final game in November. There's no way they can have negative momentum going into the new 16 team league.

I am also a Wisconsin fan and was sad to see Aranda go as UWs defensive coordinator when he went to LSU. This season has been really poor thus far, but I think it'd be inclined to give him one more year.

I do think he is a good coach, but maybe ultimately a elite DC and a below average HC.

The BU QB hasn't been very good, nor has their running game

Aranda was hesitant to go to the portal in the past, but this year he had to with a depleted OLine.

the offensive line lost three six-year seniors, a four-year starting left tackle and a 10-game starter who transferred to Florida

Our starting QB Blake Shapen could be back for this game (50/50 at this point). Baylor really needs him because the backup is not good and the O-line is marginal at best. Any hope of scoring enough to win requires BU to have Shapen playing. I know UCF will be a huge challenge so not expecting to win, but hoping to at least give it a good effort which Baylor has not done in 4 games so far this year.
UCF fans - what is the best UCF message board? I'd like to read some UCF thoughts on this game, Thanks.

I don't watch a whole lot of sports podcasts, but I've watched some episodes of the Charge On podcast. From what I've seen so far, it's a decent show, but it feels like a work in progress.

Hey, if his seat gets hot, maybe Cincinnati will scoop him up!

Given our history, we'll probably make a run at Holgs before it's all over.

We theoretically should beat Baylor by double digits, but I’ve seen a lot of bears players are coming back, and they are still a talented team. This isn’t Temple where they’ll just roll over once we’re up by 17 and realize they’re outclassed.

Is Baylor going to use their Fiesta Bowl loss to us as motivation for this game? Granted, that was almost 10 years ago, but still . . . .

I don't know, but I understand UCF plans on rubbing it in their faces by honoring the UCF team on Sat that won that game. Interesting to say the least.
EDIT - it's really no big deal. I just thought choosing this game to honor that team, when they could've chosen any of their 6 home games, is strange. They have to know Baylor might try to use it as motivation so why give them that opportunity? UCF can do whatever they want, but anyway hope its a close competitive game.

This time of year its common to have an quick afternoon shower. It shouldn't be too bad.

Its peak humidity after the afternoon shower. That's probably the biggest factor for a visiting team. Teams with good strength and conditioning programs will be fine. G5 teams tend to tire out but I don't expect that from Big 12 athletes.
