Exclamation B12 Power Rankings After Week 4
Tier 1: Conference Contenders-
1. Texas- looked like the best team so far
2. Oklahoma- has looked good, but not elite
3. Kansas State- Mizzou loss was a fluke, this is a good team
4. Kansas- Jalon Daniels continues to impress, good win over solid BYU team

Tier 2: Knocking on the door-
5. UCF- tough loss at Kansas State, was one score game until last 5 mins
6. TCU- handled business, decent team but not great
7. BYU- tough loss at Kansas, played them pretty well

Tier 3: Fighting for bowl eligibility-
8. West Virginia- jumps a few spots after 3 game winning streak
9. Cincinnati- played OU okay defensively, offense couldn’t score a single TD, Emory Jones looks like his old self
10. Iowa State- showed some signs of life in win over Ok State

Tier 4: Better luck next year-
11. Baylor- continued to look bad, didn’t play an awful game against Texas though
12. Texas Tech- lost starting QB in loss to WVU, team looked awful without him
13. Houston- beat a very bad Sam Houston team, will still be a struggle to get 4-5 wins
14. Oklahoma State- let the worst offense in the league score at will, this is a very bad team

RE: B12 Power Rankings After Week 4
Pretty fair ranking. Emory Jones running for his life behind a very mediocre offensive line at Cincinnati. His numbers, both passing and running, are actually pretty good. There is no QB experience behind him, so Emory Jones will be at the controls throughout this season for UC, Bearcat defense will give team chance to be competitive in every remaining game on the schedule, but we need injured CB Sammy Anderson and yesterday’s suspended LB DeShawn Pace back to shore up the pass defense.

We will see if Kansas can maintain this year, last year they fell off a cliff after TCU beat them.

not because TCU beat them, but because they lost their starting QB....

Report says KU's Jalon Daniels has potentially season ending injury, QB doesn't rule out return

The QB was injured late in the second quarter of the Jayhawks first loss against TCU on Saturday

A severe shoulder injury has the potential to sideline Daniels for the rest of the season.

The QB was injured late in the second quarter of the Jayhawks' first loss against TCU on Saturday.

"Jalon did not practice today and would probably be put in the doubtful area," Jayhawks coach Lance Leipold said Tuesday before the news broke.

The report says the injury Daniels faces is a severe separation on his right throwing shoulder. The QB and a TCU defender landed on his throwing shoulder during a scramble.

The QB was one of the main pillars behind the football program's 2022 resurgence. He has 1,072 yards, 11 touchdowns and an interception on the season, as well as 341 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Didn't mean to imply because TCU beat them, more that they were undefeated going into the TCU game last year.

Certainly losing a starting QB of Daniels caliber is a killer, but as you build a program depth is what it takes to get to the next step. Technically TCU made the national title game last year while starting our 2nd string QB in 11 of the 12 regular season games.

yeah, I was mostly responding to your comment that KU "fell off the map", which they did, but it was because they lost Daniels. While I agree about developing depth, Leopold was barely getting his program started at KU last year.

meaning, don't expect KU to just fall off the map because it happened last year. Do expect them to take some lumps if they lose Daniels this year too.

With Daniels, hang onto your hats.... might have to take KU and the points this week.
