UT beat OU last year 49-0 . It's such a great rivalry though and one cannot be too overconfident.

OU was also 6-7 last year; so while 49-0 is a whipping it wasn't a "normal" Sooner team.

I do agree that UT has the best overall talent in the league, but on paper...haven't the Horns been top 1 or 2 in talent for really the last 10 years?

Is Alabama all that good this year ???

simple answer. Yes.

It's pretty simple to grasp. They are "all that good", whatever that even means.

They lost a top 10 game, that is all. It's not like they lost to Wyoming, or some such.

You still standing by your answer???

Yea, Alabama looked awful against USF.

I've heard SEC apologist say Bama was sitting starters after the Texas game. Too much punishment in practices and Bama's legs were dead. Excuse after excuse.

LOL "Too much punishment in practices?" Are they serious? What kind of ******-up practices is Saban running?

once again..... whatever that even means. They need to settle on a QB. That is all.

the real answer to that question is.. would you want to play them?

It was a pretty straight forward question. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're just playing dumb.

Yeah, I'd like to play them. They're just slightly better than South Florida.

I presume that you're just playing the Devil's advocate, argue for the sake of arguing.

Bama didn't even play their starting QB. They're not the best Bama team of all time, but they are much, much, much better team than South Florida, regardless of the results of that one game where they were experimenting at QB.

anyway.... good luck this season. Somebody needs to have a big season for the 12 (somebody not OU or UT)

Alabama doesn't have a starting QB.

I don't make things up.

Milroe started the first 2 games, and he's the announced starter for Saturday.

No, but you're not exactly using context either. Milroe wasn't hurt for USF. He just played like dog poo previously. The other 2 guys were given a chance to become "the guy." Neither stepped up. Is Milroe back to being "the starter?" Yes. Is he starting-QB caliber? Not so far. As BC said, somebody has to start.

He was the starter, he was great in a non-game 1, and was less effective against Texas (as many QBs may end up being). Saban loved his team support from the bench in game 3, and made him the starter again.

point being - he did not play against USF for whatever reason.

Bama will be just fine.

Not at all. Mack Brown nearing retirement pretty much checked out on the recruiting game at the end. By the time Charlie Strong took over, the cupboard was getting bare especially at QB. Tom Herman was recruiting at a good level but was not getting top lineman. About 1/3 of Herman's last team left over the school song controversy. Coach Sark has been slowly plugging back in the gaps left by Herman. While not at the level of the great 2005 team,, UT is getting there again.

After the 1996 Red River War game where Texas lost to one of the worst Oklahoma teams ever, I never get too confident about it. We should be heavy favorites again this year but who know?

LOL - Mack Brown was railroaded by a group of childish boosters, the worst move by Texas in eons, and they're still trying to recover from that.

Meanwhile, Brown is still successfully coaching at 72

Impressive win at Tuscaloosa. That said, I'm not a believer in Sark...yet...mainly due to his body of work. 62-47 [.569] overall in 10 seasons at Washington, USC and Texas. 2-3 in bowls and no appearances in a major bowl or CFP. Now, Texas is going to the deepest, most competitive conference in FBS - the SEC. The good news is there won't be any shortage of top coaching candidates wanting the Texas in the SEC job.

I'm not sure yet. However, it would be a very Texas thing for them to have a playoff team the year before they play in the SEC....

Last season, I wanted UCF to leave the American with the conference title. Tulane had other plans, unfortunately for us. I would've loved to have left with one more conference championship to celebrate. This season, I want to prevent Texas or Oklahoma from doing what we tried to do in 2022. The remaining Big XII members have to do everything they can to keep both of them from winning the conference title in their final season here!
