BIG 12 week 2 games
UC at Pitt at 6:30 EST on CW TV. My Altafiber cable in Cincinnati has CW.

Schools have agreed to not give the River City Trophy to winner. Thus, UC gets to keep it.

We are an 8 point dog.

RE: BIG 12 week 2 games
UCF at Boise State. We're a 3.5-point favorite on the road, which makes me slightly nervous, but this is a winnable game for us without question. I don't think John Rhys Plumlee is going to turn the ball over three times again like against Kent State. I think Darin Hinshaw and Gus Malzahn both got on his case about that and the fact that he tried to run some defenders over rather than sliding. I don't think anyone else on our team made any huge mistakes other than maybe two blown coverages, but I can't think of anything else to criticize. We're on FS1 again this week at 7:00 p.m. EST.

RE: BIG 12 week 2 games
BYU vs Southern Utah. BYU gets in its FCS game this year on ESPN+ at 1 pm mountain/2 pm central. I haven't seen any betting line on this game, but ESPN FPI gives BYU a 94.5% chance of winning. They better!

Seriously though, the offense is looking to bounce back from the issues they had against Sam Houston in week 1. A local radio show has weekly interviews with a starting OL and he said many of the issues were due to having 3 of 5 starting OL being new to the team and still gelling with their blocking schemes. Sam Houston complicated things by doing a bunch of twists and stunts that took some time to figure out and adjust to--but he felt by halftime they had made some adjustments and things improved about the time the freshman running back started getting the 2nd half reps. 2 starting receivers being out contributed to being out of sync. They expect this game to help them gel and get more in sync before heading to Arkansas in week 3.

RE: BIG 12 week 2 games
With transfers being such a major part of the sport, BYU's coaches better figure out how to get players gelling much faster. Not every season can start with a brand new FBS team and an FCS team. And you don't want to get bit like Baylor. I know having lots of returning players in the future will help. But if you're going to get impact transfers like you should going forward, then they need to get a handle on how to do that better.

Go Cougs!

Agreed--but I'm hoping in the future BYU doesn't need to bring in 25+ transfers like the jump from independence to the Big 12 and replacing the defensive coordinator has brought.

TCU gets a cupcake feast this week with Nichols State; should be good to work on things that were issues in the Colorado game.

Battle for the Bayou Bucket: Houston @ Rice, 6pm CDT on NFL Network.

Also, that's an interesting decision, doss. Do y'all think there will be a new trophy for the rivalry or is that conducive to both of y'all playing every year? (I don't know how often y'all played since Pitt left for the ACC so bear with me on that, please?)

We have not played since Pitt went to the ACC. We play here next year and nothing after that. I doubt we play them anytime after that.

RE: BIG 12 week 2 games
KU looks really good, up 21 at half over IL. Then again IL should have lost to Toledo.

KU now up 24.

I'm not sure I'm ready for a world where Kansas is good at football...

But in all honesty, congrats to KU. Good game last night and I'm sure their fans are happy to see some consistent success on the field.

After Baylor’s week one game I don’t think this is as bad as they probably want to feel about it. It sucks he blew a game but can see improvement.
