Bingo. Having all three military schools in the AAC would be a good thing.

Why would Air Force want to have all of their non football sports travel to the east and south just to play two teams in football they already play every year?

They would come in football only and park their Oly sports elsewhere.

Just like Navy and now maybe Army. Neither has or will have Oly sports here. Navy's are in the Patriot League.

Or in Army's case, they could leave them indy, as they are now.
Army plays in the Patriot League with Navy.

Yeah, brain fart. I should have remembered that. Same outcome, though. Not an issue.

Even after that, the A10 and AAC are similar enough competitively that it wouldn't necessarily be a step up. We can offer more money though, but not sure that would be enough to have any of them leave their traditional rivals.

I mean, SLU's played Memphis 60 times and Wichita State 64 times (apparently even more vs Tulsa but not since the '70s) and been in the same league as most of the conference at one point or another. They'd slot right into the private school who can hoop void left by SMU. Only Drake and Dayton have that kind of history with them in the A10, though newbie Loyola Chicago has almost 50 against them.

As a public school, VCU is the most likely to jump to the AAC. They have next to zero chance of going to the Big East. UCONN is the exception not the rule for what is required to join the big east. Its the same reason WSU is a massive long shot to ever get in the Big East. SLU and Dayton are prime next candidates for them. Both private catholic schools.

Oh I agree. I'm just saying they aren't likely to go anywhere until they know they have zero chance. Right now it's almost zero as you mentioned, but they are going to hold out until the BE tells them unequivocally no.

So you're saying they're SMU without the billionaire boosters?
