SC State showed up, especially their fantastic band.

I enjoyed their band much more than their football team. They put on a killer halftime show.

In all fairness to our Memphis friends, this is before kickoff. Show me a picture of the stadium at the start of the 2nd quarter when max fans are in their seats.

This is us late in the 1st quarter:



We sold what we had to sell. SC State fans also bought what they had. We've already sold out Navy (Homecoming) and next home (Georgia St.) are moving well. I have no complaints.

Yeah, we're playing teams now nobody cares about and it's only going to get worse. The dumb AAC only want teams that add no value and not P5 teams.

Memphis fans see that and act accordingly. What's going on is exactly what I expected. We'll start to slide into the abyss. Attendance will drop to nothing, recruiting will dry up in both sports.

We get it. In your opinion Memphis is the victim here and everyone else makes bad decisions. And before you say it, I was pro-western wing.

Next time, can you please give us something new besides the constant complaining - anything? How about "I understand why Memphis fans didn't show up, but that's no excuse. If we want to get in a power conference, we have to show that we have power-level fan support."

You guys have all the other boxes checked and you'll likely get into a reconfigured PAC or ACC at some point. God knows ECU has much more work to do than Memphis right now.

Having the smallest stadium in fbs doesn’t preclude uncc from reporting tickets sold, rather than scanned. Every public school does it with notable exceptions like navy south Alabama and wku from memory. There was a Journal article from a few years ago that used foia requests. Happy to dig it up if you’d like.

And to answer the original question, no that is not UNCCs record attendance. That was set when the Charlotte markets premier team visited to let the niners live up to their namesake

Yeah I’m not sure why Charlotte is being criticized here. Small stadium capacity? Yeah, it is. But they filled it. It looks like a fun, engaged crowd. Well done to them.

I would much rather they go this route and fill what they have, then add as the fanbase grows, as opposed to SDSU or Ga State putting 15k in a stadium that holds 50k. Looks depressing.
