Game week: Howard
Game is just four days away. The depth chart has been released, here are a few highlights:

-Starting WRs are Knue, Mitchell (with Swinton listed as the backup for both), and El-Zayat OR Reese. So Reese is playing more WR than TE.

-Rewolinski listed as the LT, Conti as the LG. I thought it'd be the other way around.

-Smith the starting QB, but we have an OR for backup.

-Zelinsky and Coleman listed as the DEs. Haney surprisingly a backup.

-Tristen Hines listed as a starting CB with Daiquan White (a true freshman) as the backup.

-Knue listed as the punt returner.

Everything else is about what you'd expect. In the past even these official depth charts are what we actually see on gameday so we'll see Friday. No Terry Lockett, which is kind of disappointing. It's possible he is hurt though since usually they don't even listed guys who are out with an injury.

Perfect weather!

Need to see the OL perform with 150+ rushing yards.

Don't underestimate HU. The last few FCS teams have played EMU tough at Rynearson. EKU, St. Francis, CCSU...

The two keys I will be looking for: QB play and pass rush.

The start of A 10-2 season! 9-3 is the worst I can see with this schedule! The easiest schedule in CC 10 seasons! Every game is winnable on paper!

RE: Game week: Howard
I thought it was interesting in the EMU podcast that CC said he was not interested in getting reps for the 2's and 3's. He said the focus was getting the win.

While I agree that the win is important, I also feel that getting 2's some PT is vital particularly against an FCS school.

Just get the win and win handily and both can happen. I would love to see McCoy get reps to see what we have and also get some O linemen some game reps because we will lose Howie, Dooley, etc. at the end of the yr. Nothing beats game reps.

Hoping we score a lot, early and we can do this.

RE: Game week: Howard
I've been quiet about the upcoming season due to health issues. I want to thank Steve 4840 for his excellent coverage. I'm looking forward to being there in person tomorrow and this upcoming football season. I started repurchasing season tickets when CC was named coached and I've seen the progression in the program and the product on and off the field improve so much. It light years from where it once was. And the program does face challenges such as an aging stadium etc. We have a great chance this year I believe to be MAC champions.

I expect EMU to play this game conservatively, not showing too much to Minnesota. Don't expect a blowout. A grinding 10-14 point win with no injuries will be just fine.

Just win and move on to Minnesota!

79, Thank you for the kind words. I do hope you feel better soon. I became a fan of the program when CC took over and it's been a fun ride.

The talent we have this year is exceptional and I expect a big win tomorrow

Wait a second...Conti worked all the way up to a starting position-- an extremely important position mind you-- and it took a teammate giving up his scholarship for him to get one? That doesn't seem right. Remember when they were able to find a scholarship for backup db Freddie McGee who originally walked on? The same couldn't have been done for Conti? Mad respect for Conti and of course Dooley.
