Perhaps it's time to separate the brainy football laggers from all of their conferences and dump them into their own football league.

Boston College, Army, Navy, Duke, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Tulane, Rice, Northwestern and Stanford.

Let them play their own round robin schedule but keep their most important existing conference rivalries i.e. Vandy would continue to play Tennessee and maybe rotate Kentucky and Ole Miss.

All other play would continue to be in their existing conferences where they can be competitive in other sports.

Though, I'll admit - I was surprised to see army and navy on the list. Just trying to flesh out the numbers with teams you don't care about?
