Watched about an hour of men’s first practice after I watched the women for an hour. Coach Walker had 13 players (10 new ones).
Lot of new names to learn cause the only new one I recognized was Creed.

Were two of them walkons (Markus and Shota)? Verbal commits lists only 12 total and two are walkons. Still curious about Nigel John. VC still has him listed on the roster.

I did not see either of last years Walkons on court. Of course if Markus got a hair cut, I probably would not have recognized him. The season ticket write up says walker has 10 new players but the official roster on the web site does not list then all. All three of returning scholarship players were there.

I have only the womens schedule but yesterday the women practiced at noon til one, then had 20 minute pick up game at one. The men started practice at 1:30.
The women have another practice today at noon and pickup type game at one again. So if the men practice again today my guess would be at 1:30 again but not sure. Fisher court is the only one available for practice.

Made it today for last 30 minutes of men’s practice and the players shooting time. Had one of the players come up to me with a hand shake and said “hi, I’m Cougar”. Nice to see him be outgoing and friendly to a fan.
We have plenty of length and several good shooters.

Verbalcommits gets their information from media and fans. The athletic department doesn't directly report to the site. So it doesn't always have the correct roster nor does it show all of the offers we really put out there unless someone reports it on twitter.

Considering the new size coming in from the transfers, it wouldn't be surprising if Nigel left because of the possibility of less minutes. He did show hustle and seemed to be a nice guy but he had only played basketball for about a couple years. So he had a ton of development left to go. The main reason why he played a lot last year was because we didn't have a lot of length last year other than Deantoni.

I think DW has realized his system can only be successful if we get a ton of talented and experienced bigs. Which explains why it appears he went aggressive into the transfer portal. Not to mention, if he didn't muster up the right personnel to bring a winning season, he was doomed before the season even started. On paper, it looks like he's brought in some good players but its now up to his coaching ability and that is the bigger issue. This year better be a make it or break it year. Either we have a winning season, or DW is gone.

Was just looking at last years roster of players that left. I believe we have replaced every one of them with a better player with the possible exception of maybe Myron Gardner.

Went to men’s basketball practice at 1:30 today. They had to practice off campus because Fisher Court was being used for Wrestling camp. I continue to be excited about this season. We have more players that can shoot & make the shot and more length. Barring injuries I feel this will be an exciting season.

Went to men’s basketball practice again today at 1:30, offsite. It was a really fun experience. They had an inner squad game dividing up into two teams, with an assistant coach for each team, and coach Walker acting as the referee. It was similar to watching a game at the Jack. As I’ve said before this is going to be an exciting year.

I'd be more excited if we had more size. I see that Mitchell isn't listed on the roster.

They still have three at practice that are not yet listed on roster and Mitchell is one of them

Watched the men practicing again today at 1:30 off site due to VB Camps on fisher court.
Was really impressed with KK’s ball handling and shooting. Cougar shot well today also.
