Exclamation Pirates - What's Dowdy-Ficklen's visitor section?
Away tickets trough Charlotte49ers.com website says the section is TBD. I'm looking to trim some cash off of several tickets (aka, not buying through our AD site) and I have a mixed group of Pirate and 49ers fans so tickets in the section next to the visitor section is also an option.

Also, what's the food situation like in the stadium (example: Charlotte has Bojangles, Clemson has cardboard pizza)?

Thanks.

If I remember correctly it is Section 12, if not more of the surrounding sections for larger visiting crowds. It has been over 8 years since I've caught a game so maybe it has changed.

Section 12 is right. There are Chick-fil-A sandwiches plus normal stuff pizza candy nachos hot dog burgers. Wait times have been a problem under this AD, but we are supposed to be switching catering packages so maybe it will be better.

Maybe there are more options, I never buy food inside the stadium.

Yep 12. Other than the upper deck, section 13 right next to the visitors would likely be the next cheapest section.

You have an east-west stadium. I'd imagine most of it's under the sun till around 5pm in October.

It's actually more North-South(Technically NNE-SSW) See shade below. You're right that there is more shade later, but the South-side under the tower gets it the earliest.

Average food options and be prepared to wait to get into the stadium unless you’re 30+ minutes early. Also be prepared to wait 10+ minutes for a beer.

If you know someone who’s a pirate club member and depending on where they park it’ll be quicker to leave the stadium for a beer than to wait in line.

I'll grant your tower is a great source of shade in the later afternoon, especially when the transit of the sun is toward the southern horizon in November-December. That said, Dowdy-Ficklen's orientation is ESE to WNW:

This. Halftime beers FTW

Halftime beers, quarter break beers, tv time out beers, official review beers. All are better options than waiting in the ridiculous lines at dowdy.

I love our stadium and our fans do a good job for a team that hasn’t finished a season ranked in both polls in over 30 years, but the gameday operations suck. Concessions, music, in game entertainment etc all suck

I'm not a doctor or anything, but the two set of stands are at the top-right(Top=North, Right=East) and bottom-left(Bottom=South, Left=West) of the map you attached.

Stadium orientation always follows the playing field, not the stands. The reason most outdoor stadiums are laid out north to south (when possible) is to equalize the effects of the sun across the playing surface so one team wasn't driving into the sun and one team wasn't driving into the shadows. Same reason why most home stands are on the west side of a stadium, so your home fans don't have to look into the afternoon sun or get sun fried.

Ah, gotcha. I was referring to the orientation of the stands.

The better you are at finding a beer the worse you are at reading a compass. I think it's why Navy seems to be able to sink our hopes so often.

Happy to help. Unless you're sitting on the field, the compass is your friend.
