man that was a close one!

they ain't bad. power's nonexistent, but they ain't bad. the big three are a mixed bag and the suspect relief at season's beginning is carrying them. ain't sustainable but it'll work itself out once lodolo and ashcraft go deeper

Lack of power hitting has been a bit of a surprise. I'm not sure what's up with Stephenson's lack of power in particular. I think he and Senzel are good candidates to show increases over the final 2/3 of the season. Maybe Votto too - it's also hard to say what we'll get from him if anything.

It might take a while for them to arrive and acclimate in the majors, but McLain wasn't the only guy bopping in AAA. Elly and CES in particular could be bringing the wood to Cincinnati in the near future.

RE: los rojos
last night's loss exemplifies why there is optimism. hunter greene continues to pitch well. the roster could have some decent depth once the call ups happen.... shoot they could be buyers at the all star break. all that damn money just floating around. where else it's gonna go? commit to a serious team for next season, maybe make some noise in september, make folks all tingly but by then burrow's back and we can't look away

The Division looks completely there for the taking (I think it's a bargain +2500 odds btw.)

+2800 on draft kings today. I used a 50% boost to get it to +4200.

Up to +3000 Sat, so +4500 with a DK boost.

Can’t win a division when you can’t beat the team ahead of you.

His first 5 starts he looked great. The Reds need to figure things out quick especially with Lodolo out at least until the A-S break. I'm not sure Lively and Williamson can keep it up. Vegas sure doesn't think so - Reds winning the Central is up to +4000 last I looked.

RE: los rojos
so they've lost four straight; they'll rattle off the next five go for a swoon and be .500 at the break still in contention. i'm not too worried about it.

Unless I have Spectrum apparently I can’t stream Reds games in Columbus.

RE: los rojos
The Reds have "forced" me to dust off my Reds cap from the closet and wear it. 34-35. 1.5 games back from the Buccos. Won 5 in a row. 8 of 10.

McLain
De La Cruz
India
Friedl
Greene
Lodolo
Abbott
Diaz

Some real pieces to move around on the chess board. Plus, the farm system remains stocked with prospects. Time will tell but it appears to be good timing...

Can't remember the last time I was this interested in the Reds. Pitching is still bad. Yesterday they won being outhit by double the hits and had 4 errors to KC's 0. Unreal. If they get anything from pitching they should be able to take Division. Milwaukee and Pittsburgh are not great.

only starting pitching is bad which was suppose to be borderline good. and relief was supposed to be bad. can't wait to get tejay antone back. votto and senzel due back. goodbye jose barrero. elly's come down to earth trying to beat out weak ass knocks to short. hopefully we didn't overhype him. mcclain's the runaway rookie of the year. a combination of mike trout and buster posey

His talent is not overhyped one bit from my eyes. The amount of runs/RBIs he has is incredible still. Pitchers have made adjustments and are pitching him differently. KC series specifically. Time for him to make adjustments to counter.

I’ve been following the Reds closer. They are hot as it gets but young. Baseball is so much about consistency at that level and once the hot streak levels off I hope they can be a .500 or better team but no one will know until season plays out.

Regardless a young and very fun team to watch. They play hard as heck.

Reds have an opportunity these next few years in the NL central with all this young talent. The rest of these teams stink.

RE: los rojos
What's interesting is who is the veteran leader of the club since Grandpa Joey is gone after this season? India I presume. 26 years young. Gotta love that. Keep an eye out for Noelvi Marte in AA. I guess he has a hammy injury right now but he's right behind De La Cruz in potential. Oh, and he's only 21 years young.

Six road wins in a row after taking the opener at Houston. Redlegs train keeps rollin'...baseball is fun again.
