RE: JU hires Michael Fly
That's an interesting choice for him since he was on an SEC staff. Maybe he misses Florida.

Fly was a Support Staff member (Director of Scouting & Analytics) for Mizzou. At JU he will be a Bench Coach.

It’s still odd to me. I’m sure he made more money at Missouri and would likely have been looked at for higher profile jobs more favorably from that position than as an Asst. in the ASUN. Maybe he doesn’t care about that and just wanted to coach wherever he could.

No disrespect to JU. He will add a lot of experience to the Dolphins staff which may have been an issue this past season. This is a great hire for JU.

Fly is replacing Scott Cherry on JU's staff. Cherry has extensive experience both as an assistant for Darrin Horn (WKU & South Carolina) & Jim Larranaga (George Mason). He was HC at High Point and won 4 consecutive Big South titles. He was also a Captain at UNC in the early 90's.

Perhaps Fly brings some skills that last year's staff lacked or it is just a better cultural fit overall.

I was surprised by the change.
