Is Bourguet a lock for the #1 spot? Salopek looked pretty commanding in the spring game and never bailed on the team to preserve a year of eligibility.

from those who went, I heard good things about both. Which is good. I would say Bourguet is not a lock, since Salopek had the first team.

I liked Bourguet, but I did not see him put on a masterclass last season. Also, a somewhat different offense in terms of execution, and we don't know which guy runs it better.

If it’s jack he needs to put on about 15 lbs before being considered

To my untrained eye Bourguet looked like he had a lot higher ceiling. For that reason I'd rather see him in a season that's likely not a championship contention year.

Having said that I didn't see Salopek in the spring game and it's possible his injuries were a big factor last year.

I was very very impressed with Salopek last Saturday. He played with confidence I haven't seen before. His passes were on on point. Far more accurate than any of the other qb's. I told coach Taylor myself that I thought Salopek was much improved and looked in complete control.
