Been a while since we took over an away gym. I hope it's not a weeknight game.

I will definitely go to the A&M and MTSU games... Would really enjoy going to the Asheville tournament too.

Yikes. I was hoping we would avoid a crap D2 game this year. The AAC really discoursges these.

This seems like the latest ever for announcing the schedule…

I've come to the realization that the rest of our 2-4 OOC games just aren't going to be good. If they were, surely they would've been announced by now, even by the release of another team's schedule, like what happened with MTSU.

Final exams are December 4-8, so I would guess the Southern Miss game would be either between November 14-18 or December 2nd. We’ll see.

Eh, it's definitely a step up this year compared to previous seasons. Drake, Bradley, Clemson, Davidson/Maryland, MTSU, and Southern Miss are all quality games. UNC Asheville isn't a NET killer. The only head scratchers for me are Arkansas State and Montevallo

Playing and winning road games no matter the competiton counts more than some think. Beating a low-level team by 50 at home means nothing. Doing it at their place means more, if only a little. I think its a nice gesture after years of being our punching bag. Also, is there a north Alabama high school player UAB is after? It also gives Tony Toney and Efrem Johnson and chance to play in their hometown.

Playing at their house is way better than at home. We get some road wins hopefully, and don’t get demolished as much in the NET. To be fair we don’t have a clue if this is even a team that has a ceiling above the NIT at this point in time.

Agreed. Even though the names aren’t glamorous, we have some solid teams on the schedule.

Plus our conference schedule is better, even though we took UTSA with us.

It’s embarrassing that we are doing road games at AAMU and Ark state, and saying we went on the road and tested ourselves. Hopefully Memphis, UNT, FAU can make up for our lack of scheduling. Furman probably the best non-con game we have as far an actual good team goes regardless of what NET says.
I like going on the road to Alabama A&M. Gives Tony Toney and Butta a chance to play at home and Huntsville is a good basketball town. Gives more in-state exposure outside of Birmingham. Wouldn't do it every year but doesn't hurt to do it occasionally.
Putting together a schedule is tougher than most think. And, yes, Furman is a dang good program.
