RE: NIT Finals
I have never been one to measure our success by how we compare to "Power 5" schools. Having said that, I've heard a few people question how much our getting to the NIT final four means because we played the likes of Southern Miss, Morehead State and Utah Valley, among others, to get where we are. None of those names are exactly impressive to the average sports fan.
But then you look at the tournament as a whole, and there were some big schools in the field: including Michigan, Villanova, Oregon, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Cincinnati, Florida, Vanderbilt, Colorado and Washington State. (Lots of NCAA tournament wins out of that bunch over the last decade, including seven Final Fours and a few national championships.)
Now, those schools didn't make the NCAA field this year either, but it's not like UAB and UNT got to the finals because the field was a bunch of nobodies. They both advanced by winning on the court. It has been a nice run, and I think it's proven what we all knew about the potential of this team.

RE: NIT Finals
We played the teams on our schedule. We got lucky with Morehead, but we beat Vandy on their floor. I will not diminish what this team has accomplished in this tournament, and I don’t really care what other people think about it.

Same people that will say FAU only made it to the Final Four because Purdue lost.
That's how tournaments work.

Sparse crowd, as expected, but probably better or similar crowd as CUSA Tournament.

RE: NIT Finals
Absolutely terrible energy, body language, and defensive rotations to start the game… This is feeling just like the conference championship game.

They have actually hit a couple of shots where we guarded very well. On the other end however, we are struggling to even get a good look.

We should not go out of the zone trap unless they start breaking it consistently… They cannot handle it. Our energy and body language did a total 180 when we switched back to the zone.

RE: NIT Finals
If Gaines isn’t coached out of a lot of his bad habits, it’s going to be a really frustrating two years ahead of us
One-handed no look pass… Directly to the other team for a layup… Comes down, next possession takes a horrible fadeaway three deep in the corner… What in the hell goes on in his head sometimes?

North Texas is parking a guy in the paint on offense. No three second calls yet. Jeepers!

RE: NIT Finals
Beating us to offensive boards and loose balls, poor energy, can’t get any kind of decent shot on offense….
Lovan, both brewers, Gaines bringing absolutely nothing to the table, turning the ball over
