March 28.

CAA conference RPI is #9. Just behind Confernce USA and ahead of the American, Big South, SoCon and the pitiful A10.

Hawks' get the sweep over ECU.

Hawks get game 1 against the Aggies. Need to sweep these guys just to keep pace with the top of the league. We are at the top now and hope to stay there.

RE: CAA Baseball 2023
Hawks' with the toughest stretch of the season in front of us, especially the next five games. 14 of the 23 games remaining are against highly ranked opponents. Make or break time. Have to pick and choose where to put in our top pitchers. We stll have a shot at winning the conference, but an at-large is also still on the radar if we can do well in conference and pick up a few wins OOC.

#10 NCSU
#32 TCU - 3 games
#17 Campbell -
#27 UNC
#25 Northeastern - 3 games
#17 Campbell
#6 Wake Forest
#75 William and Mary - 3 games

RE: CAA Baseball 2023
CAA moves up to #8 in conference RPI as we move ahead of the Mountain West and still remain just behind CUSA. Hawks' helping the move as they have split the first two games against TCU and now play for the series win. Current RPI for UNCW is 76 as we have the #13 non conference SOS in the nation and it's only going to rank higher has we face an incredible stretch of opponents to end the season. Two games left against Campbell(15) and games against UNC(13) and Wake Forest(#2) are still ahead of us in OOC play.

In conference, Elon(30), Northeastern(48) and the Tribe(69) all are ranked ahead of us right now. We're done with Elon having split two games and we still have three game series left at home against Northeastern the weekend of May 5 and a season ending home series against William and Mary the weekend of May 18th. We still have series at home against Delaware(98) at Hofstra(173) and at Charleston(89).

We have a good shot to win the conference, but even if we don't picking up wins against Campbell, UNC or Wake could propel us to an at large as long as we don't collapse in conference play. With such a tough conference this year Coach Hood is doing a great job of going after the wins against highly ranked OOC opponents when we get leads and are playing well, but he's not sacrificing pitching when we get behind knowing that conference games are coming up. And we have an offense that is giving us a chance to overcome games where our pitching isn't getting it done. Getting the first game against TCU was huge since losing to TCU away isn't an RPI it but getting a win gives us a bump. So, does Hood save his arms to try and take down a highly rated Campbell team or deos he go for the series win against TCU if it's there?

Once Campbell joins I wonder if the CAA will be a 2 or 3 bid league!!

Campbell is going to be a huge addition to CAA baseball. The good thing about adding all these North Carolina schools is the OOC schedules have a lot of really good teams to play with ECU, NCSU, UNC, Wake, Coastal Carolina, etc. Great potential to bump that RPI. So I could see us getting multiple bids pretty regularly with them in conference.

Yep, already hearing there should be a good crowd. Seems like the UNCW/Campbell rivalry may really develop into a good one once they get in the CAA. Should be good in all sports, but especially baseball. I'm driving an hour to attend and bringing a few with me.

No letdowns! Need somebody to give us a lift on the mound come Tuesday. Chenault will be good for 2 or 3 and Banks for 1-2. A quality start and mid relief would do wonders. We should keep swinging it hopefully.

Somewhere, you've noted the significant wins (ranked wins) we've had over the past 10-15 years. A third win over a ranked team in less than a week is seemingly significant.

For those checking this board, I've had issues with Discord, so I haven't been able to comment recently. Can I catch today's game on TV anywhere?
