That was a terrific job by those Akron kids. I remember it well. They kept their KSU shirts on right up until the starting lineups (or maybe a bit before). It was clean, fun and classic.

Hamine Qunitance carried us that night. The others seemed rattled, but that guy took it by the horns. It was fun watching those fans leave upset. I actually saw some crying.

Lower bowl was sold out a couple weeks ago. Ticketing issue just adds to the issue.

Goodness gracious. This is not a good look for Kent State University. Imagine if the Flashes were hosting a University with actual academic credibility. tonight. Good timing I guess.

Glad to see the NIU is putting Eastern Michigan out of their misery. Thank goodness the Ealges and their 8-23 record won't be there as the 8 seed.

I'm trying to be excited, but also remember the MAC Tournament is almost a 180 as soon as this game ends. Once this game is over the second season begins.

One heck of a win but should not been that hard. That ref blowing that foul on the 3 pointer with 4 seconds left was absurd when Jacobs never touched him all air and gets the BS foul call to send to OT. I also understand how pissed coach was because of that but I was not happy giving Akron 2 pts before the OT on the tech.

Carry carried the team to the win though and wow what a game by Peyton.

So a very good chance these 2 teams meet in the semi-finals if they both win quarters.

I had no faith that the erratic Ball State team would help. Still it was a great regular season, even if it was only good enough for 2nd.

I’m not really sure how the rule is written, but common sense tells me if a technical foul is called for protesting a call that occurred at the end of regulation, why wouldn’t the penalty free throws be given at the end of regulation?

It wasn’t at the end of regulation. Akron made 3 free throws, then Carry drove over mid court and missed a shot in the last four seconds. Then during the break before OT coach blew up.

Strictly a guess ... if the Tech was called AFTER the final regulation buzzer that's why it was applied in OT. Had it happened after a game that was not tied, the refs would have run off the court and the coach could have screamed until the cows came home and never hear a whistle.

Just my guess.

The tech occurred after the buzzer sounded. Also, everyone getting on Rob about the Tech, I wholeheartedly disagree. First there's no way the ref who called the tech could hear what he was saying from the other side of the court with how loud it was. The tech had to be off Ron being demonstratively upset. First, that's insanely ton def by the ref. He was the one that called the foul on the three. He then stood at mid court, refused to go to the monitor and refused to look up at the scoreboard to see just how badly he blew that call. Then he has a quick trigger with a tech on Rob to compound it. Absolutely horrible terrible, all around embarrassing officiating.

We showed some serious grit overcoming everything that was stacked against us tonight.
