ESPN Chase Brown article…WMU Mention
Very good and interesting article. Chose WMU because of “top-rated aviation school” as he wanted to become a pilot. Transferred to Illinois because:

1) His WMU scholarship didn’t cover the cost of aviation program classes which are costly (seriously…WTF?). That’s a bit surprising. What other classes does a football scholarship NOT cover? Never heard that one before.
2) Wanted to be with his brother who was already playing at Illinois (not surprising).

Seems like we lost both Chase and Jayden Reed on just about the same day. Anyway, interesting article…not sure how to link it.

I have a friend who went through the Illinois aviation school and has been a pilot for Air Canada for the past 20 years. He used to rave about their program being fantastic.

That's a transfer that makes a lot of sense.

Flight time / classes much more than any other 4 year program. I'm thinking it's 2 to 3 times more when you include flight time....

Aviation is a demanding program for sure, but there are others that require just as much effort and time commitment, if not moreso.

There's a reason most football players/student athletes are in the same 5 or 6 academic programs.

Scholarships cover the classes in aviation but not the flight time which is expensive and always getting more expensive.

Seems like with the new NIL rules this would be an easy fix to make up the difference.
