Lordy, if these refs get in the way of a great matchup between Marshall and Louisiana, and call every ticky tack foul to slow things up, we riot.

It will be interesting if attendance for the return ODU/JMU game on 2/16 will match, or even exceed that number. JMU and ODU are real rivals, and it wouldn’t surprise me if attendance comes close to 8k at the AUBC.

Disappointing neither game is on the weekend.

Do you know the status of Drue Drinnon? He went down awkwardly in the second half and it looked serious.

Haven't heard yet but he is like the 8th guy to get hurt this year. Injury bug is killing the team.

Agreed. If the games were on Saturday I’m confident both programs could come close to sell-outs at around 8500+

There are a couple of really important matchups on Saturday.

James Madison @ App State - 3:00 PM CT... Huge game between 2 teams fighting to get one of the top 4 seeds for the tourney.
Marshall @ Louisiana - 7:00 PM CT ... Game of the Week. Everyone knows the implications of this one.

A solid chunk of that would be visiting fans too. Both fanbases will travel for this matchup, but being on a Thursday night really limits how many are able to. Hopefully the conference can try to put JMU/ODU on Saturdays in the future. We probably would've had a group of 5 to 7, at least 4 last night if it was a Saturday but on a Thursday only two of us could make it.

I thought the officials in last night's CCU vs ULM game were pretty good. There were a few calls that were head scratchers but that's going to happen. All-in-all they were consistent and they let the guys play. May have let it get a little too rough some times but I'd rather that than calling every minor contact. Now let's see what Saturday holds in store. LOL

For some reason I just thought that was a new CUSA tv thing.

Dukes of Pearl Necklace -2
Marsha -1
Mustard Buzzards -4

the top three of four are all road faves (surprised Marsha is the fave) ... at least one doesn't cover ... wouldn't surprise me if all three do not...

all no plays in my book ... gonna grill out back, drink some beers with a li'l 420, and enjoy a beautiful day watching some SBC hoops...

Saturday, February 4:
Southern Miss @ Georgia State - 1:00 PM CT
Coastal Carolina @ Arkansas State - 2:00 PM CT
South Alabama @ ULM - 2:00 PM CT
James Madison @ App State - 3:00 PM CT
Georgia Southern @ Old Dominion - 6:00 PM CT
Texas State @ Troy - 6:00 PM CT
Marshall @ Louisiana - 7:00 PM CT

copied the original post and did some updating. Tonight's Marshall at Louisiana game could be one of the games of the year in SBC play. I'm glad USM plays earlier so I can watch it as USM hosts Louisiana next week.

RE: SBC Basketball 2/2 - 2/4
So if Texas State beats Troy, USA beats ULM, and Coastal beats Arkansas State then we’d have a 5-way tie for 8th with Texas State, Troy, USA, Coastal, and the ODU/GS loser. Let’s make that happen lol.

Marshall @ Louisiana would have been dope on linear ESPN tonight...

Instead they have 12-10 Oklahoma taking on 13-9 West Virginia....

If ESPN had come to the Sun Belt to change the tip-off time to 7:30 central, I think we would have done it.... Would be a far more compelling game.

Now it's Louisiana -1....

I just think Vegas and the public knows it's going to be a tight game of equally quality teams.

I find it interesting that 4-7 USA is @ 7-4 ULM and is a 3 point favorite.

Vegas knows their stuff, I would be very scared about that. USA has had a ton of unlucky breaks, and they could easily be right there with us at the top of the conference.

I would definitely agree with that and I am certainly concerned. Especially considering how we've been playing on Saturdays.

The Jags have been playing some very good basketball lately and have suffered some last minute losses followed by two butt-kicking wins in their last two games against Troy and Arkansas State.
