Let me state right up front, I HATE the style of basketball North Texas plays. They have the slowest tempo of any team in the country. Their tempo is 363 out of 363!

Surprisingly they lost a home game to Rice yesterday, 72-60. NT did their part. They only scored 60 points. Somehow Rice didn’t get the message, and they managed 72 points. That’s the most points scored against North Texas all season.

The Mean Green are 15-5 and 6-3. FAU has beaten them twice, both times by 4 points. Saint Mary’s beat them 63-33. Yep, 33!

KenPom has it UAB 70 - North Texas 66.

This will be an excruciatingly slow game to watch.

Good to hear that perspective from AK. Easy to be negative and pessimistic right now - but he is right, we are 4 possessions from being 8-0 in conference. He alluded to the fact that we've done what we needed to do to win in every game we've lost, we've just lost our poise in certain situations and that shouldn't be the case for a team this experienced.

"We are close."

Let's get a statement win today. This is a huge one for the conference standings.

Mine: UAB 69-North Texas 67.

I think it will be low scoring. We haven’t shown we can speed them up in four attempts to do so in the AK era. Worse, we tend to play sloppy as hell when we try. I have mentally prepared myself for an aggravating slug-fest that comes down to the last minute.

He practiced yesterday, so might have just swollen up from that.

Which is just as bad or worse… if you can’t get through a practice or warmups that’s a bad sign of a worse injury or re injury
