Refs absolutely ruined the game today. Kept guys on the bench, ruined the flow of the games and made the game last forever. Siddle was really on some guys who weren't rebounding or closing out on three point shooters. Thomas and Farrar got the brunt of his ire, but especially Farrar. Season high 17 TO's with what seemed like a bunch of sloppy play. HP scored 30 points in the first half and 52 in the second half. Best part of our game was three point shooting where we were 10-23 even with Harvery going 2-8.
Not much to say as we went up 22 in the second half then took our foot off the gas and the weels fell off. Guess a win is a win though.
The foul called on Newby late in the game was BS. That was the one I didn’t care for. Imho the refs didn’t let them play but sometimes you get a tight whistle.
High Point had quickness, skill, played hard and didn’t quit when they were down big. They should win their league.
Hawks didn’t win by the margin they should have today but give them credit for being scrappy.
The officiating was down right disgusting for both teams. The T Jamie Luckie called on the HPU player was mind boggling. We make a spin move to the basket and a foul is called on HPU. Their player makes a motion with his arm showing that our guy hooked on the move and Luckie Ts him up. The young guy calling with Luckie and Heater was worse than them. And that's saying something.

He absolutley was. There were times where he'd be the only one making calls, and that's with a pair that already calls everything,
Something I've noticed before. Officials like Luckie become very irritable after calling so many games in a short period. And they take it out on the players.
Heater's a different story. He's just an idiot. Just my opinion.
It was great to be able to speak to my old buddy, Eddie Biedenbach. Su h a great person.
I thought it was also great to see Keatts at the game supporting Siddle.

Any word on if Keatts will schedule one and ones with us yet?

If State loses on Thursday, Keatts won't have input on State's schedule beyond this year. I haven't seen them play, but losing at home to Pitt is concerning.

It’s almost like a bunch of people said taking the State job was a horrible idea. He got paid I guess, and that’s what sucked him over there.

In theory, the dominos couldn't have fallen any better for him. The door was cracked open with K and Roy retiring and he hasn't walked in! It's funny, my colleague who used to sit right next to me at the office is a State grad and we were talking about KK when he was coming. I said he's a good coach but..... and gave him a list of about 6 things that would kill him at this level if he didn't change. Same guy texted me this spring and said every single thing you mentioned was real.
At our level, he could out recruit teams and he did. And, quite frankly he put such good teams together they covered up some of his coaching weaknesses in conference. Many of those weaknesses were exposed against any P5's we played and especially against UVA and Duke in the tourneys. He just refused to make any adjustments no matter what the game flow called for. And THAT, will get you in trouble fast at an ACC school.
Don't want to derail this thread any further, but when that happens we can probably create one.
Anyways, super excited about Ross's breakout game!
