Ok, everyone else is doing it, so let's sit down for some story time..at least the highlights:

*"Worst bowl"... you ever been to Detroit in the winter? and Montgomery's nice when half the stuff's not closed for Christmas week..

*Worst opponent": We've played both the F_U's and yes, we took down the pups one other time... If we wouldn't have sleepwalked after ND, we may be worthy to complain about not playing a low tier B10 or 12...

*"Worst location": Ok, I'm not a beach guy, but I'll be making the 6 hour drive to support muh boys because that's what fans do!

*Pitches the UConn fan a red bull and walks out to let him prepare to go down to the Herd again*

With regards to the Marshall fans thinking they will blow us out: I highly doubt it. UConn is 9-3 against the spread this year and have won five out of our last seven games, including against MW champ Fresno State.

I think it will be a one-possession game either way.

I do not think it's a bad match-up. I have been telling everyone we need to watch out for you guys. I watched some of your games toward the end of the year and you guys play tough.

If the Myrtle Beach Bowl is going to continue to be built up as an East division destination, we have to work on getting better tie-ins.

We had 2 FCS games. We're essentially 7-4. And if Gardner-Webb had been an FBS team at that time we were screwed up we'd likely be 7-5. Not that far off from 6-6. Get over yourself. If we lose this game I'm not taking the crow, you are. We are not too good to play anyone. And UCONN is independent to get their basketball (men's and women's) back in the Big East, not to join the ACC in football. 3 weeks ago we weren't even sure we would get it turned around enough to make a bowl and now we're being choosy about who is good enough to be on the same field as us? You're making JMU fans look sane and gracious. And not just you.

Sheesh, we wonder why people call our fanbase arrogant.

Look, I completely understand why you would feel that way. I got it off my chest now. I'm moving on. You're right, we have to beat UCONN, or else I look like an absolute tool.

I think you know I'm a very reasonable poster, and I don't mean to be arrogant, but got to admit that was a little deflating. These things do tend to even out over time, in the future, we could get a year like Louisiana did, and be 6-6, yet get a better opponent...

This is such a crap matchup.

A matchup with CUSA or MAC at least gives us some kind of bragging rights. This gives us NONE. Other than just another bowl win.

Bragging rights over CUSA and MAC schools? 03-lmfao No one cares about that. Look we're getting extra practices in and we get a team we've only played once before. We've played CUSA and MAC schools so many times it's boring. Lets go in there and take care of business and get the win.

I don't know, I liked the little rivalry we had with WKU.... I really don't think they were one of the schools putting their foot down when we left, I think that was more Rice and MTSU playing politics in the background, more so MTSU. Just a hunch, and from conversations I've had with other Western Kentucky folks.

They loved our rivalry, and they were sad to see us go, but they all understood why we had to leave. Personally, if the opportunity presented itself, I would not mind at all to see Western Kentucky back in the Sun Belt.

Coastal Carolina gets East Carolina

Louisiana gets Houston

And we get an independent 6-6, yeah sounds right.

Oh well, time to vent is over, maybe after a good night's sleep I'll feel better about it, I think the most disappointing thing is no conference bragging rights, it's a wasted bowl.

Everyone here said the Myrtle Beach Bowl was the East division's best Bowl... I mean s*** man, even North Texas at 7-6 is playing Boise State at 9-4.

DUDE! We play ECU next year, you want to play them in a Bowl also?
Louisiana and Houston are more regionally located, it makes sense.
The rest of the available teams are a wash. If we would have got a CUSA team EVERYONE would be pissed and you know it. A MAC school and everyone would be pissed. This is our first year in the SBC lets just play nice and let the old guys have their pick. Hell we're luck we aren't playing in Detroit against Akron or whoever won the MAC.

It's all good, it is what it is, I think the nice dynamic thing about our fan base is we don't always agree, but when we need to come together we do! So I think you know me, sometimes I voice my frustration, and now I'm moving on.

I don't think I was the only one with that take either. A lot of our fan base felt the same, and not trolls, but good reasonable posters. However, now it's time to rally, and thump the Huskies.

Let’s go pack out Coastals stadium and get us a bowl win to close out this season. F UConn! Kidding, I always pull for the underdog and watched a good bit of UConn games this year pulling for them to get bowl eligible.

Makes up for going 13-1 last year and playing the fourth best team in CUSA. Things even out.

We got the bowl we deserve, and frankly the opponent we deserve. We were 6-4 against I-A competition, and looked terrible for 1/2 of the season. We got a GREAT bowl location, and we aren't stuck playing a MAC or CUSA school. I'll gladly take it. If we want a better opponent or bowl, we need to earn it. And we didn't this year. Stop the crying, go out and beat UConn and do better next year. Geez.

No we didn't look bad the second 1/2 of the season. We look bad for the middle 1/3. Two of our losses were bad losses. BG and possibly ULL. CC at the time was playing at their best, and Troy is the real thing this season. We ended the season fairly well beating App, JMU, and the two Ga's. At least Huff brought it in. Doc teams would fade and not be seen again for the remainder of the season.

Sure, we ended the season strong. But that doesn't negate the middle 1/3rd where we were pathetic. And it doesn't change the fact that when looking at the total body of work we got pretty much what we deserved. Want a better bowl and better opponent? Earn it by winning more games. We didn't do that, and got exactly what we earned/deserved.
