Gosh, I hope they put all of that on their participation trophy.

It's not a participation trophy. Their games are real SBC games, and they all counted towards everyone's wins and losses in the SBC. Not only did they participate, they routed several of their SBC opponents, defeated the preseason SBC favorite in their first conference game, and put themselves in a position to hold a tiebreaker over the east champs, in a division many believe is the toughest G5 division to play in. All in their first year as an FBS program. There might be some mild trolling from JMU fans, as to be expected, but much of the whining is coming from other fanbases.

Shhh. let them continue their false narrative. it makes them feel better. 04-cheers

No fan base has been more scared of JMU joining the Sun Belt since it's been announced then the Coastal fans.

Not even ODU has shown fear. Even after the beatdown they got. They are still talking smack with the best of them.

Not even App after a down year and taking a big fat L in JMU's first SB game, have they backed away.

Marshall won (although in favorable circumstances) over us and have a lengthy history of success, so of course they have no fear. Which is also true of App.

but Coastal? despite almost no history with them and us (other than a silly mascot fight), it's been just downright fear from Day 1. Competition is heating up now in the East. No longer just App and Coastal fighting for the division title. Suddenly you bring in two more schools that win and care (Marshall and JMU) and the Beach Boys are afraid their little run without their Recruit-of-a-Lifetime is on borrowed time.

We even walked into their state and took their HS stud Running back away from them in recruiting this year.

and no, i still don't think we should go to a bowl game this year and am not bothered by that in the least bit.

But if we win Saturday, we are absolutely the SB East champions. No questions asked.

Haha. No one at Coastal is afraid of JMU.

You guys are a grad transfer journeyman QB from being at the bottom of the standings.

Good one!

Instead, JMU is one win away from being the East champ, and if CC’s one-trick-pony offense doesn’t return its golden QB to play this season, CC may be on the verge of ending the season 9-4 and on a 3 game losing streak.

good for you! what you fail to recognize is if you win Saturday, probably every JMU fan will be rooting for you to beat Troy and get that Cotton Bowl bid.

but the 5 of you Coastal fans will probably still say JMU is "whining" about something. you'll wait to make it up on Sunday after the game though.

Kudos to TroyFootball05 for correctly pointing out "1st place is on the line" (even if "1st place" is a meaningless unofficial title).

LOL at CCU fans who will hang onto a nearly meaningless, yet needed and definitional "SBC East Champion," despite not being at the top of the standings and directly losing to the team above them in the final game of the regular season if they lose.

LOL at Saint for continuing to show their obsession for all things JMU.

LMAO at a JMU fan pointing out CCU is a "one-trick-pony offense" with a "golden QB." I can only hope that was said in jest.

Afraid of what? Losing? We've been flirting with that all season. I'd say most of us are numb to it. With two backup Qbs against a pretty solid team, logical fans are just hoping for a pleasant surprise.

Dunb question alert, how does Coastal have the same number of games played this season as JMU after Coastal not playing last weekend?

Didn't know that was a thing, but I now have a sudden urge to just use CC going forward.

You didn't know CCU was a thing? Seriously? You and some other JMU fans should probably learn the basics about your new conference mates.

Opening excerpt from Wikipedia:

Coastal Carolina University (CCU or Coastal) is a public university in Conway, South Carolina.

This Duke is fine with that. I don’t know why people insist on conflating beating Coastal with the SBC title. Well, I do know—to get Coastal fans’ goat, which is succeeding.
