I don't understand why the coaches limit Carpenter so much. He put up 40 points against Georgia State last season. I don't get why Guest is getting the majority of snaps all of a sudden when Carpenter has far more experience. What's a better passer if he has no experience? Should've been a quick change in my opinion. A lot of questionable handling of our QB play.

Yeah I really expected more Carpenter. Obviously our run defense is crazy good so maybe that was a big part of why, but still it seems like he might've been able to grind out more first downs and get his defense some rest.

As far as JMU without Centeio, I don't think we would've beaten anyone in the conference without him but that's largely due to how terrible our backup was. If you swapped in just an average G5 QB for Centeio I think we still put up a respectable record. Just not 8-3/6-2, probably more like 6-5/4-4.

Who knows? Personally I don't think our staff put together the best gameplan to truly have much success without McCall. Carpenter could've/should've been used differently, instead of being placed in a predictable box. His packages pre McCall injury vs post injury should've been re-evaluated/expanded.

I agree with that. I think JMU's defense would've helped keep them in many games but the offense would've likely fallen off a cliff without Centeio.
