If a Florida Republican were to be our next President, I'd certainly prefer Senator Scott over Governor DeSantis. He signed a mild gun control & mental health bill after the Parkland massacre, a bold move in today's GOP and far more than most GOP governors in similar situations have been willing to even consider doing.

That bill is a template for what I think we should be doing, move forward with incremental bills that address both guns & mental health. Offer something for what each side sees as the problem bill by bill until we reduce our gun violence rates to levels found in comparable wealthy Western countries.

Mitch is done. He’ll be 86 at the end of this term. If he runs again he won’t win the primary. He’s pissed off his base here in Kentucky with his questionable leadership during the midterms.
