UVA is 3-7 and is favored by 3.5 against Coastal. The disrespect for our conference is real. Coastal, if you win another game this year, please win this one. Our conference pride is on the line.

I don't think it's disrespect toward the SBC.

I think it's just the belief that Coastal isn't as good without Grayson McCall.

If McCall was playing, I believe the line flips in Coastal's favor.

UVa is horrible, has coaching issues, and has nothing to play for.

CCU should run away with this one.

I imagine UVA has ultimate say but would probably consult with us. I doubt we have much say in the matter. Hopefully we support whatever UVA wants to do, but I think canceling the game is the right thing to do.

Good call. This is a related event to a conference team.

Agreed on keeping the conversation on the recent news going, no one should be in the business of censoring news related to a team we're playing this week. It's very unfortunate and sad.

I agree please don't make this political people. It's just unfortunate and prayers to all those affected in the Charlottesville community.

When the news first came out they said it was a former football player that did the shooting. Now it's coming out that current football players were shot. It's a sad situation and likewise I don't see this game getting played. COVID showed we can break contracts pretty easily when conditions warrant them - and this would be such a time.

Anyone that isn’t brain dead knows that this isn’t the same Coastal team without McCall.

If played, this will be a tough game for us. The offense just isn’t what it is supposed to be without him.

FWIW, this is supposed to be their Senior Day game. I could see it going either way - the players families wanting the game to be played b/c that is what their son/sons would want, but also not wanting to play b/c in the grand scheme of things it is not important at all and you need to worry about everyone's mental well-being.

Two Virginia football players, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry, were victims of a shooter on campus late Sunday night, it has been confirmed by their families.

According to a source, the two had been on a drama class field trip to Washington, D.C., earlier in the day and had been targeted, among others, by suspect Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a former walk-on running back on the 2018 UVA team. Jones is a student at UVA and as of 9:30 a.m. was allegedly still at large. He is said to be armed and dangerous.

If played, perhaps Chadwell and Coastal can put together a tribute to the UVA players. This game will be a different game than the normal..

That sucks if the game gets cancelled, but completely understandable. I get the feeling the CFP was going to wait until after the Virginia game to rank Coastal, and I don't think Coastal would've been behind three AAC schools.

I'm not sure Coastal gets ranked at all by the CFP now, because they don't have the chance to prove themselves against a P5.
