Dylan fumbled in part because McBride made one of the worst attempts at a pass block that I have ever seen. McBride fumbled on extra effort as he is sometimes prone to do. Got sloppy with his grip and was still fighting for yards. Sometimes take the 5 yards and that is good enough.

Yeah, McBride's blocking and pass receiving skills need some work but he sure can run the football.

Zeno is showing us why there isn’t a real quarterback controversy…whatsoever.

So far the two pass attempts from Zeno are a 3 yard check down thrown into double coverage, and a quick slant bounced 5 yards in front of the receiver

...just thinking need a T.O. here... to call a deceptive RUNNING play...

I agreed with most of your post until this line. I agree with most backs, but not McBride. What makes him so special is the way he continually fights for the extra yardage. A huge amount of our first down conversions have come from 3rd down runs that were going to be punts but he extended by fighting.

I think the fumbles are a risk you take with somebody like that. Trying to coach that scenario is going to create hesitancy and he’s the type of player whose mindset is on fighting for every single run to become a highlight. He’s gotta go with pure instinct.

But it is why a lot of backs like him don’t make it in the NFL.

Glad we got the lead back with the FG, but if I'm WKU I play man-free, 8-9 in the box, make it impossible so sustain drives on the ground, and make Zeno prove he can beat them.

The other side is that he's wearing a target now. Everyone looks to stand him up and punch it out. They're being coached to target that
