This Century. In the last 30-40 years. Back in the 40's and 50's don't count...clown.

Marshall is only 1-0 against JMU.
Last Century doesn't count.

Bozo.

MU 3 - JrMU 0

Deal with it!

At the end of the year, and the hottness of JrMU has warn off... FBS depth will sink in. The transfers will come to Marshall and we will revisit this thread again in a year. Rinse and repeat. Get used to being bullied by a bigger dog. As longs as stats were being recorded.. They count. So for now... its 3-0, like Bison said. Deal with it. For the Skinner comment.. that was Snyder days.. wasn't any better.. and was before 2006 LOL.

Was it Skinner or Anderson that sacked himself on the last play of the game against UCF? 03-lmfao

I haven’t commented in a while because I haven’t cared enough to do so, but over the last few years I frequented the JMU board on their expansion thread. For 3-4 years their fans have argued they were the better program and would beat Marshall every single year.

I’m so glad that we won this game, if for no other reason than to give them a reality check. Having said that, I’m glad to be in a conference with them. Solid fan base, solid football program, and regional to Marshall.

The SBC is awesome. I’ve found myself watching and cheering for a lot of the SBC teams.

I absolutely agree. I love being in this conference with all of these great schools. JrMU included 05-stirthepot

Even with the tarps, our stadium is still bigger than yours lol. Your largest crowd last week wouldn’t be in the top 20 largest crowds at Marshall. Possibly not top 50.

The end zone is tarped (typically full for games in that section as it’s best priced tix) because of a renovation that will take place soon. Never have we tarped our stadium prior.

I lived in Rappahannock County for a good while, JMU was my local team to follow; couldn’t bring myself to pay attention to UVA or VT. I love the I81 corridor, all smack talk aside. The valley has a drug problem, not any different than Huntington.

Guess this is what a budding rivalry looks like at the start. Look forward to pounding the purple annually.04-chairshot

Glad Hart's post got deleted. My response to him was as follows:

Hart...I remember you well as a valuable contributor on the old CAA Zone.

Seriously though, your persona has gone waaaay off the charts. What has happened?

I stick my assessment that most people are not just bad at smack talk....they are really, really bad at smack talk (myself included). Your last post would be a great example.

Here endeth the lesson.

It does have a drug problem. Read Beth Macy’s Dopesick. Unlike other parts of Appalachia (which Harrisonburg adjoins but is not formally a part of), the Valley has low unemployment and a good economy. Drug abuse and use is nothing compared to far SW Virginia, where it seems every other billboard in places like Bluefield is about overdose prevention. 81 is more of a drug transport corridor than a destination.

Though at one time Harrisonburg was quite high on the list until several major drug bust cleared out the problems for the most part.
