Sorry for dredging up an old comment, but this thread was rehashed and I wanted to refresh myself on it... and found this quote that I hadn't responded to.

you should be shocked... and that didn't happen.
We all have (or can easily obtain) 'some' facts on this matter so our responses do not rely on a simple headline... especially a targeted/manipulating one like 'Government trying to shut down media'.
That said, perhaps you've missed the past few years where BOTH sides have been complaining about 'fake news' and 'misinformation' being spread....
So I'm probably more shocked that a Democrat's first inclination when hearing that the government is trying to censor media (which isn't what happened, but is what you're alleging) that the media in question isn't somehow biased enough to warrant suppression for spreading 'fake news'.
Again that isn't the case here, but I think we've ALL become suspicious of 'media' sources... and thus ALL of our reactions to finding this out would be more along the lines of 'which ones'.
To me, 'X' is not official media... it is social media. Sure, official media sources can put their information on social media, but they are still media and this 'selling' their name and reputation.... and they therefore need to remain unbiased. That probably doesn't sell as well as salacious BS, but that is the price they pay for the access and deference that they get... and they need not to abuse that.
