Washington Post or the National Enquirer? Seems about the same type of yellow journalism with no credibility?

Yea, and an 18 month expedition to find some notes from zerO and the NK punk is a loooooong time even for Cpt Ahab or QueeQueg.

Anybody that thinks the "RAID" wasn't to find ANYTHING they could to throw out in front of the American people to make Trump look bad, is a babbling idiot that just needs to go about life and never speak to anyone ever again. They might say nuclear codes or location of Jimmy Hoffa's body, whatever. That was the reason. And we know they didn't find anything from the Press Conference from the AG yesterday. Because if they did, it would have been stated and he wouldn't have looked like a 5th grader doing his first speech in front of class yesterday. They found nothing and now they realize they are phucked. End of story. Time to move on to something else. Which they will.

Man... gotta love the liberal media!

Report that FBI sought nuclear documents sharpens Trump showdown with Justice Department

Quote:(CNN)A report that FBI agents searched for classified documents related to nuclear weapons at Donald Trump's Florida resort could explain the urgency of the unprecedented operation at the home of an ex-President and takes his showdown with the Justice Department to a grave new level.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/12/politics/...index.html

Yeah... a 1.5 year wait, thats so urgent!

As somebody who had access to the nuclear launch codes when I was on active duty, I have a hard time figuring out just what kinds of "nuclear documents" could even be involved.

The president doesn't have the launch codes, the military guy carrying the "football" does (an NROTC classmate of mine who is now a member of congress had that job for some time). I just don't know what else would end up in possession of a president, except maybe some kind of intel report (and those are generally classified for methods and sources, not content).

RE: Washington Post: FBI searched Trump’s home to look for nuclear documents
I have seen no credible reporting anywhere claiming that what they were after were nuclear launch codes. Additionally, wouldn't those change with a new administration...or change periodically for security purposes?

And as to the claims that it could not have been a big deal because they waited a year and a half, has there been any reporting that they've known for a year and a half that trump may have had sensitive nuclear information? Or did they just find out when an insider recently dropped a dime as was reported earlier this week?

Lastly, as to what kids of documents he could have, it could range from things like intel on how we get nuclear information from other countries, details on what our allies have in terms of weapons, details on our nuclear weapons, deployment procedures, and a whole host of other things.

Sort of makes you wonder what exactly Jared got $2B for, huh?

Nor have I. Just pointing out that it is difficult to imagine what "nuclear" information might have been in Mar A Lago.

Yes, they change periodically for security purposes. And there are periodic exercises to ensure that those with custody are taking the proper steps. We once received one when we were in Mayport, FL. There is a two-person custody, two safe combinations, two officers with each one, I had one and two other officers had the other. When we got the drill, one of the officers with the other combination was on leave, getting married. I opened my safe combination, but the officer with the other combination couldn't remember it--and the clock is ticking on us to get a response back. So he calls the wedding reception and locates the groom and gets him the message that it's a 9-1-1 call. So the groom comes on and is asked, "Remember that girl's telephone number that we met wherever?" Groom is like, "WTF are you doing interrupting my wedding reception to ask about a girl's phone number?" "No, you don't understand, this is very important, I need that phone number in the next 10 minutes." Groom figured it out from the 10 minutes comment, gave him the combination as a "phone number," we got the safe unlocked, accessed the launch codes, and completed the exercise satisfactorily.

The codes also change. It’s not like an 18 month old code would still work.

Still doesnt explain why they are suddenly a priority after 18 months of sitting in a locked vault. Bottom line, the raid better have yielded nuclear documents---but lets be honest--as the Feds were just there in June and went through all the the documents---my guess is there were nuclear docs to be found. Which goes to the whole basis of the warrant----a so called "lack of cooperation". You see the basic problem here? If there were no "nuclear documents" on site---there was never any way for the Trump lawyers to "cooperate" and satisfy the request. On the other hand---if you wanted to aid Nancy's flopping Jan 6th "insurrection" investigation----a search of all those documents might be a Hail Mary worth throwing. I mean---nuclear codes and information is not likely to written on a napkin or hanging in Melania's closet---so a house wide search centering on some sort of Jan 6th angle makes more sense to me---even though the pretext would just be "missing classified documents".

So you have the classification and experience in working with these types of documents?

Just an aside, back in the day----Garland blocked approval of a search warrant for the Unibomber (he was eventually over ridden by Louis Freeh and Janet Reno)---but he did issue one for Trump....good thing its not political. Best thing Congress ever did was keeping this piece of trash off the Supreme Court.
