I’ve been voting over 40 years and I got my first call today from a political pollster asking about the November elections.

Focused on:

National Election, Congressional, Gubernatorial, and State Representative

Asked questions about funding the police, border security, abortion rights, economy and the 2nd amendment.

About a 15 minute survey. Seemed like a good kid so I gave her straight answers.

Anyone who isn't on my contact list is not allowed to call. On my recording I tell them to text me and tell me who they are and I will get back to them. Some telemarketers still will record but there's no chance that I will return a call, perhaps that's why I don't get polled.

What gets me is there are phone numbers and no messages and I suspect that they are not businesses and I can't understand why they don't leave a message. *shrugs shoulders*

They’ve gotten so tired of ringing my phone they eventually just stop wasting their time. If I happen to answer and they ask for me I tell them they have the wrong number and ask them to remove my number from their system. It seems to work.

I answer my phone this way and it seems to work for no call backs.

" Memphis police department how may I help you."

You should add "fraud unit" to that. We've done similar and it seemed to stop the calls.
