UCF hosts Ga Tech 9/24
ECU hosts NC State 9/3
SMU hosts TCU 9/24

SDSU hosts Arizona 9/3
Fresno State hosts Oregon State 9/10
Hawai'i Hosts Vandy 8/27

SBC (3)
App State hosts UNC 9/3
Ga State hosts UNC 9/10
ODU hosts Va Tech 9/2

MAC (2)
NIU hosts Vandy 9/17
WMU hosts Pitt 9/17

CUSA (1)
Charlotte hosts Maryland 9/10

Obv this is a small sample size (one year)...but we really need SBC teams scheduling as many home P5 games as possible (easier said than done, right? lol). P5 scalps go a long way in terms of building/growing national conference brand value/perception and having home games vs P5s obv increases the chances of winning them. Who all host P5 teams in the coming years? I know Southern Miss hosts a couple:

2025
Southern Miss hosts Mississippi State

2030
Southern Miss hosts Mississippi State

We have a long term home/home series with Virginia Tech. It’s pretty sweet and definitely win/win for both programs. VT signed the series since there are countless VT alum in Hampton Roads (my wife included) - and the 757 is a hotbed recruiting area (so their recruits can come watch them play w/out traveling).

ECU next year will be another big gate and big season ticket seller. From 2025 onward we have home openings. I have faith in Doug Gillin to work that schedule and make sure it’s not 11 years between P5 home games.

JMU is really behind the 8 ball here. And unfortunately, it is a by-product that many fans predicted.
Yes, JMU made the right decision by waiting until a conference move made sense. The flip side is that many Mid Atlantic / Southern schools moved up when we were still waiting on the right scenario.

As it stands, App St, ODU, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, GA State, Coastal, Liberty etc have locked in the overwhelming majority of available OOC games in the coming years, especially the few P5s that are willing to travel. Additionally, many have added the desirable regional G5s like Army, Temple and ECU. For the first several years, JMU will likely have to take what it can get and hopefully be VERY proactive when there are cancellations.

I still lay odds that NC State will be our first P5 to come the BFS. If Troy can get them, surely we can.

Oh to be a G5 in ACC country…(sigh)

Recruiting is another huge benefit of ODU's location, I'm sure VT loves telling 757 recruits they'll get those games back home for their friends and family to attend if they pick VT. I'm really curious to see how JMU does in comparison when it comes to getting P5's at home, there's always been debate over whether we could pull off similar or if ODU/Liberty manage it due to recruiting(ODU) and throwing buckets of cash around(Liberty).

Also really curious who our first will be. UNC seems like a decent bet, we seem to have a solid scheduling relationship with them and they seem very willing to play in G5 stadiums. UVA and VT might be hesitant to visit the best team in VA 05-stirthepot And obviously UNC isn't even afraid to visit the best team in NC, much less in VA.

I’m really surprised that VT agreed to move this years game to Friday night. We asked NCST a few years back so the game could be on TV and they declined because high school recruits they want to host from the area are playing Fri nights. Maybe high school FB doesn’t start this early? Whatever the reason I’m glad, plenty of football hungry eyeballs should be watching and I’ve got Labor Day weekend plans starting Sat that will take me out of the reach of any kind of cable/internet connectivity.

That’s no different of a scenario than any FCS that has moved up ever in history.

It absolutely is.
The Notre Dame at Navy games every other year (and one Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium game excepting AF) were specifically held out of the "Navy tier" deal which the AAC took to market a year ahead of the primary media rights deal.

It will be on ABC or ESPN at noon on that day, as part of the AAC-Disney primary media rights deal.

Unless the info I've researched is wrong, this game is being played at a neutral site (M&T Stadium - home of the Baltimore Ravens). That's why I didn't list it. Navy might be the "home" team but it's being played at a neutral site, right?

UNC is no UGA. A better comparison would be having GT come to Paulson.

Exactly. I can see Tech making the trip in the next few years.

Even though Navy is the "home" team it's not played at their home (Annapolis), therefore it's not a real home game.

It's fundamentally different from neutral site games like Kickoff Classics
It's fundamentally different from the annual neutral site Army-Navy Game, presented by USAA.

Even though Navy is the "home" team it's not played at their home (Annapolis), therefore it's not a real home game.
We'll wipe away our tears over your ruling with Benjamins from the $4.5 million in ticket sales in addition to the money ABC/ESPN pay for the rights to this AAC home game.

Unless the info I've researched is wrong, this game is being played at a neutral site (M&T Stadium - home of the Baltimore Ravens). That's why I didn't list it. Navy might be the "home" team but it's being played at a neutral site, right?

It is a Navy home game being played at M&T.

Part of the AAC conference inventory if one cares about media rights deals.
Navy gets the ticket sales money, rather than it being any kind of even split. We do pay ND a visitor's gate minimum out of our money -- it's the same dollar figure they give us when we go out to South Bend in odd-numbered years.
It's included in Navy's season ticket packages this year (it isn't when these Navy home games are further afield as in Jacksonville or San Diego).
Parking is being sold through the Navy ticket office, not through the Ravens. I don't know the details of concessions - if there is any revenue sharing of that.

You’re going to get beaten like a drum.
