RE: Bid Automatic Bids a Fond Adieu
You can't have more corruption if there are less at-large spots! DUH!

It's truly frightening that Kevin Warren --- the genius who pushed "we'll play football in the spring" due to COVID --- is wielding as much power as he is.

Once it became obvious how stupid he was then, he quickly reversed course, cobbling together a sh!t-tastic slate of games to salvage his job.

Sadly --- there IS NO reversing course with the things he's doing now.

Oh well ...... college athletics was fun while it lasted.

Every time the ACC champ misses the playoffs, remember: the ACC could've had an automatic bid if Phillips & company hadn't opposed it.

Under that Andy Staples tweet, though, note Ross Dellenger's comment about the 'real reason' CFP expansion was voted down:

It had little to do with format & more to do with allowing the current contract to expire to provide an open market for more networks to access.

which was a good idea... I just think there was a way to accomplish both.

I cut people a lot of slack with Covid. It was an emergency situation loaded with risk, and decision makers had little precedent to guide them.

Warren and Swankey both like to talk, though, don't they? You'd think both guys personally put their conferences in the positions they are today.

I'm old enough to remember when the PAC had a big talker...

Time will tell. 07-coffee3

So you're in favor of meaningless conference championships then? Because with 16 at-large and no auto-bids, that's what that means.

Why even play conference championships?
At-large bid doesn't matter
meaningless titles

expansive postseason renders regular season meaningless ...
