Heck no to Kristi Noem after she bent the knee to the trannies.

Gabbard is a Democrat...? I'm confused.

Yeah. Me too. Desantis is a Republican and Gabbard is a Democrat. A very sharp one, at that.

While she's not a far left leaning Dem like AOC, she is a Dem. She is calling out the craziness she's seeing, but don't get it twisted, she had some very liberal views.

Any of the board libs good with this idea?

I could never vote for DeSantis. I would consider voting for a mixed ticket but it would obviously depend on who was on it. Perhaps one of the New England/Mid-Atlantic GOP governors.
A New England/Mid-Atlantic GOP'er is basically a RINO.. They'd be more of what a Democrat used to be...

But I'm curious, why no to DeSantis as well.

He stated in a debate that he would support a ban on abortions after roughly 6 weeks. That alone disqualifies him in my eyes. That's a green check mark for me.

I don't support his "Parental Rights in Education Bill". Not that I think third graders or younger should be taught all the details and intricacies of sex and sexuality. I just think that the bill was written to be ambiguous and I believe the result will lead to the negative mental health of LGBT children or children with LGBT parents. Another green check mark for me

I'm against his requirement that ex-felons pay back all court fees and restitution before allowing them to vote again. For many ex-felons, this effectively prevents them from voting for years, if not ever. This one gets a green double check mark, it should be very difficult to get your rights back as a convicted felon.

I'm generally against his stances on gun control. check mark

I also feel as the governor of a state with an average elevation of 6 feet above sea level, he'd have a more pro-active stance on climate change. I will give him credit for creating a statewide office to address coastal flooding and sea-level rise, but I feel like he's only coming up with short term solutions. Our global temp has risen 1 degree celsius in the last 100 years, not on my list at all.

Anyway, these are just a few from the top of my head. I don't know many of DeSantis' other positions, but the ones I've listed above disqualify him (for me) in my opinion.

Democrat voters are highly racist against any minority not on their side.

What a stupid comment.

Prove it. We see examples of it presented here all the time. I'm currently reading The Deepest South of All: True Stories from Natchez Mississippi. The author, originally from London and living in NYC at the time of the writing outlines example after example of just such a dynamic. He's a dyed-in-the-wool liberal and even he is forced to face some harsh realities about racism, one of which if you aren't with them you're against them, regardless of color or class status.

I think that would enjoy broad support and appeal to a disparate crowd as a path to if not unification then at least a measure of solidarity.

With margins always razor thin, we don't need a democrat presiding over and breaking ties in the senate. I'd rather Mitt Romney even though I like her better. Senate is all about votes. Wouldn't mind seeing her in some kind of executive position to counterbalance the industry/war machine though.

VP is way over Noem's weight class - see Harris, Kamala. She is fine right where she is.

DeSantis needs to find a solid and respected running mate with actual input. Look at too many of the VP's in most of our lifetimes. Bush, Qualye, Mondale, Gore, Pence, Biden, Harris.... all placeholders and figure heads at best. I know I left a few out - Bush and Biden make the point!

In a moment of honesty - would anyone here want to have ANY of these mentioned taking over in the event of their president having to step aside?

Do you think the 2024 election will go down and different than 2020?

Aren't the same shady shenanigans going to happen? They maybe even perfect it more.
