Do you view that as a variable that could go either way?

Oh, I have no idea. I speculate it depends on whether Trump runs. If he doesn’t, I think Biden might step aside.

Andy Beshear would have a better chance of winning. The only problem is he would have to basically run for governor and campaign for President at the same time, as his first term as governor ends in December 2023. If he doesn't win reelection, any presidential aspirations are toast.

You sound at least moderately sane. Why would you want to vote for a Democratic at this point? The party is controlled by far Left lunatics. Maybe that's the point of your post. What policies that Democrats theoretically favor had you loyal to them in the past?

Honestly, I haven’t voted for a major party candidate since I’ve been able to vote back in 2010. I’m with the Democratic Party on climate change, marijuana legalization, social issues, etc., but they’ve taken it to the extreme with their social causes, to the point where biology doesn’t matter anymore and silence is violence but looting isn’t. And I’m flexible on economic issues, as long as what’s being discussed is rational (ie not socialism), but of course, the Democrats have become the Socialist Party of America.

There isn’t a Republican I’d consider voting for right now outside of maybe Kasich, but I might just vote for whoever the Republicans drag out there, hoping against hope that if/when the Democrats lose, they’ll look in the mirror and realize they’ll never get the people in the center/moderate left like me with their current way of thinking, though I’m not holding my breath.

All Cooper has is the power of veto. He used that power to try and buy through Medicaid expansion. He failed.

Having said that he is the only one on that list who has been an executive that has to lead in a multi party state

Cooper is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He's hamstrung by a GOP legislature otherwise he would be openly calling for batshit crazy commie ideas like Newsom and Whitmer.

It's funny how Cooper somehow gets credit for the business friendly environment here. 03-lmfao

I guess the Dems want to give Mondale a run for his money.

If JFK were running today, with the same things he said back in his day, he'd be considered a MAGA guy.

If Clinton were running today, with the same things he said back in his day, he'd be basically Mitt Romney.

It wouldn’t be quite that bad.

Colorado officially went for Biden by more than 13 points. I doubt the GOP could take that back. And if you add in all the places that went for Biden by an even greater margin than CO, you’re looking at about 190 or so Electoral Votes.

Unless there’s a major war, with the same kind of mobilization like we had in 1942-45, I don’t think you’ll ever see another Reagan/Mondale-style landslide again.

I remember watching those returns on TV. Red and Blue had not been “officially” designated for each party yet, so some of the networks would have GOP states in blue and some in red.

100%

But at least he is smart enough to know when to hold them

He tried to bully through Medicaid expansion and failed. He didnt try it this time and NC was actually able to get a budget with compromise.

He is the only one on the list who would actually know how to operate without having his party in complete control of everything.

Its hard to believe a Regan 84 map was even possible

I couldnt imagine that type of landslide, its unfathomable.

For the record, there were only 4 other elections that were worse - but that is if you count George Washington Running unopposed 03-lmfao
