04-cheers My Mom is 80. I have the paper sent to her house. She doesn’t have internet and wouldn’t use it if she did. She likes to hold the paper. I get the digital and seldom read it.

Convince ND????

ACC is dead. It ignored all the warnings the last 10 years. The fan bases ignored all the warning signs.

It's just amazing.

The ACC absolutely did ignore the early warnings. The conference is like a diabetic who was told to eat right and exercise but instead kept snarfing down Little Debbie cakes every day... now they have no choice, and even if they do the right things from now one, it will never be as good as it could've been... but I wouldn't pronounce it "dead" yet, just "unhealthy".

Time to stop holding out hope for ND football full time. Be glad We have a few games spread out a year and enjoy their Basketball as well as other sports.
Time to look for a couple of or more Schools that want to pound it out and make the ACC the best P3 conference !

Speaking of Little Debbie cakes, my wife loves their raisin creme pies and eats them every single day.

Realistically, the only schools that could do that are currently in either the SEC or Big Ten, and they aren't leaving to help the ACC.

Yeah, that's going to go over real well. Hey WVU, we'll let you in but you only play conference away games.

I think that exacerbates the problem too. Then you'd have twice as many games a year that WVU fans would invade ACC schools. At least in Morgantown you don't have to go.

We'll, they would bring something that is in short supply in the ACC: a rabid fan base that actually cares about football. If only they could learn some social graces.

Not true, negative Nellie.
It's not possible for the ACC to crack into the same level as the B1G or the SEC because of football depth within the conference (realistically the B1G doesn't have that much football depth, just more alumni).
But based on recent history the ACC is at least the third best of the P5. With the other two P5 conferences losing a large chunk of their value it is realistic to say that the ACC is already part of the P3.

The time to stop holding out that hope was in 2012, when ND joined for everything but football and told John Swofford that football would never be a permanent member.

That is when the ACC should have looked towards expansion that didn't include ND football.
