Could Wake Forest be an option for the Sunbelt??
The way things are looking, the Deacs could be a FunBelt option. It would definitely give us a major global brand. Thoughts??

That's a school that already has P5 resources and branding, yet has accomplished very little with it. Taking that away won't help them any

lol. Ok. this is on par with the AAC people that thought they would be raiding the B12 last year.

I think the Jacksonville Jaguars might be available soon if we just stick together long enough. SUre they're just a market add but it gets us into Florida.

If Wake were to get left out of the Super Conferences that everyone is talking about then I would think they could still be part of a best of the rest (leftovers) conference.

Current P5 Schools that may get left out of a Super Conference Split in the eastern US could include:
Boston College
Syracuse
Duke
Pittsburgh
Wake Forest
Georgia Tech
West Virginia
Cincinnati
UCF

If they wanted to those could band together and pull in Memphis, UConn and maybe a couple more to become a decent football conference. Even if the ACC dissolves I'd think there would be enough left overs to form a conference.

I've always said...Imagine if you gave a group of 5 school who's used to digging in their couch cushions an extra $40 million a year....now imagine if you took that away from a power 5 school who has it but can't do anything with it.

We'll definitely get to see the former happen. My sense of schadenfreude wants to see the latter too.

Assuming the B12 is part of the Big 3 Super Conferences, then WV, Cincy and UCF won't be available. Duke and probably Pitt and GT will somehow land in a Big 3 conference as well. The ACC will be the best of the rest on the east, and the PAC will be the best of the rest in the west. I could see BC, Syracuse, Louisville, WF join with USF, Temple, Memphis, ECU and a few others (pick from Buffalo? App? ODU? Charlotte?, UAB? Marshall? So Miss? FAU? GaSt?) to form the new ACC. Years and years from now.

That's essentially a new Big East. UConn seems happy in the BE as a basketball power among other basketball powers though.

I read an opinion piece suggesting when the ACC falls apart that Duke, Syracuse and BC join the new Big East along with Gonzaga among others and just drop their football to FCS like 'nova.... I don't think that the Big East would take WF though....
