What she said was definitely tone deaf and terrible speech writing. Whatever staffer (or her) put it together deserves a pay cut. Can't be a gaffe if you don't say something gaffe-y (sp). I've sat on the comment and read some of the posts here for perspective and agree it's a rather large foot in the mouth moment (and totally alienating to what I imagine is a voter base democrats are frothing for).

I generally roll my eyes whenever people gaffe attack because I say dumb **** all the time. Saying stupid **** is bipartisan these days.
