Well, at least 1/2 of that post means someone is very lucky.

There have only been two people in my entire family on both sides that have graduated from college(my aunt and myself). Both of us graduated from Arkansas State University!

I'll go first. Keep in mind I have/had 34 first cousins.

Daughter - Texas State
Cousins had kids who went to:
JMU, GS, App & soccer affiliates UCF and USC

Sounds like my family; I have 35 aunt and uncles. 1st cousin count would be very similar.

I have one, Aunt joined air force out of high school, met her husband during that time and relocated afterwards to North Carolina with him and graduated from App State.

Rest of family went to A&M, UT, Tech, Texas State or smaller schools. Most went to State or A&M.

I’m pretty sure I have a cousin or 2 who attended UL, but I’m not absolutely positive.

One of my best friends from Southern Miss—we’re our respective kids’ godparents—has his PhD from Georgia State but his heart lies with USM.

The bulk of my in-laws are West Virginia alums, and one brother-in-law particularly abhors Marshall.

That’s all I’ve got.

Saw this post. Made that joke. Scrolled up and saw you already made it. Deleted my post.

No connections for me.

Not thread related but: I have an uncle that went to UNCC, another uncle that went to UNC, and a cousin that just graduated from South Carolina. App beat them all in 2019 and I got them all "L's" painted in App colors with the game scores on them for Christmas. That was a fun year.

RE: Conference Connections
My wife's cousin is a Georgia Southern graduate. That's it. The lack of connections to people I know from in-person experience from other SB schools underscores how great it is to have interactions here on csnbbs and on the Facebook page.

I'm sure I went to high school with someone who went to Coastal, but I don't remember who.

In the 2000s, I had a ton of friends/family connections in the SoCon:
Brother: CofC undergraduate, The Citadel grad school
Wife: Elon
HS Best Friend: Furman (football player)
Western: In-laws' best friend
Brother-in-law: UNCG
Childhood best friend's dad: Wofford
7th grade girlfriend (this is a stretch. But still.): Davidson
HS friend's wife (even bigger stretch): Samford
HS cross-country teammate: ETSU

No one for VMI, Mercer, Marshall, or Chattanooga.

I did enjoy the family/friend's affair of the SoCon, but I would never ever ever want us to go back to that. The Sun Belt is awesome for my school.

EDIT: My mom does have a cousin who went to South Alabama way back when it was called something else, but I haven't seen him in about 27 years, so...

Also it's possible I have a second cousin or something who went to Southern Miss since I have relatives I haven't seen in 30+ years from Mississippi. No way of knowing.

Wow. My mom was an only child, and dad had only one sister, who had 2 girls. So we had one Aunt (and def considered her husband our uncle), and only 2 first cousins. Even though I had 4 siblings, we could easily have the entire family in one get together.

Dad was one of 10 but one sister died young. Mom was one of 3.
27 1st cousins on dad's side. 8 on moms. (I missed one before - died at 3 days)
19th (of 30) in age order on dad's side, 3rd on moms.

RE: Conference Connections
Drawing the "extended family" line at 1st cousins once removed, I have several Xavier and UNC-CH, as well as Ohio State, Wright State, Florida, Dayton, Cincinnati, UNCG, George Washington, VCU, WVU, Ohio, Ball State, Michigan, Miami (OH), Florida State, Auburn, Louisville, UNCC, UCLA, Princeton, the Naval Academy, UNCW, USF, a whole slew of D3 colleges across the Midwest, numerous junior colleges and trade school, even a convent, as well as more than a few who spent their college years in Normandy, Okinawa, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan.

But not a single Sun Belt grad anywhere that I can find. The closest I got is my wife's cousin's daughter's boyfriend who is a current student at future soccer affiliate UCF, and close friends of the family that went to App.
