He was answering my question, and I appreciate it. I had no idea this question would stump so many people. Here it is again:
Assuming a P2 world, where do you want your school to go, and why?
Simple, yes? Or so I would have thought.
We've already got a thousand threads for people to play commentator and share what they 'see' or 'don't see' happening and show home-made diagrams of imaginary divisions playing imaginary schedules. No harm in it, it passes the time, but that's not what this thread is for.
I am asking for information about a topic on which everyone here should be the world's leading expert. I am asking you what you want.
Did someone sell you a bill of goods that you're not allowed to want anything unless ESPN or FOX tell you it's OK first? Well, screw 'em.
Assuming a P2 world, what do you want to see for your school? And why?

I have to remind myself, too, that these super-conferences are not going to be the same animals as the conferences which birthed them. Once you and your rivals/friends are in a league, of course, you have something to say about how things are done--and that makes a big difference already.
For years the SEC, B1G, and B12 haven't interested me much. I've always liked the idea of ACC schools playing PAC schools. We're a colorful lot with some interesting things in common.
I worry about fans who chant S-E-C. Go to the beach. Read a book. Get a job.
I hope this works out well for Wake Forest. The Deacs always give my school a tough game. I'll never forget how you blanked us at homecoming and got Bobby's son fired. (I can laugh about it now. The therapy is going nicely, thank you.)

Northernmost team in the SEC. Not even a question. Although I don’t think that is Carolina’s situation.
I have absolutely no interest in the Big Ten for sports. Zero. Academic alliances don’t matter in sports anymore. This is professional sports now. Do you think the Nationals want to play the Mets because the players have similar scholastic backgrounds? Lol
It seems like you missed the point. Do you think it's easier to recruit players from the North to beat SEC teams, or to recruit players from the South to beat B1G teams?

I don’t think it matters. Carolina recruits players from everywhere to beat teams from all over.
What matters is trips to Lexington, Knoxville, Nashville, Columbia, and Athens blow away anything the B16 has. I don’t want to see Carolina become an outpost just because the academic elites hang out in the same exclusive clubs.

That looks horrible for Carolina.
Miami can do whatever they want because they’ve never really fit anywhere. Hence the reason they were Indy for so long.
*although I will say the current ACC is the best fit for the U, besides the money difference. Too bad you guys stunk it up for 20 years.

Due apologies, I was merely responding to Garnet and Blue's assertion about the ability of a school to lobby, and was not responding directly to the topic. Lobbying has nothing to little to do with wishes.

The more I think about it...the stronger my hope is for the B1G with a contingent of ACC schools. Best of both worlds. I've seen a bit more FSU-B1G chatter in the past day (prior to that it seemed to be mainly SEC). No idea if there's anything to it...

Tried to make it clear that my original post was in response to the "Miami and a certain mystery school being on the verge of a packaged pair deal" rumor. One that I didn't believe to be true. Lobbying was the wrong word....I should have said (untrue) proposal.
