I think GWB and Obama undid most if not all of it - and in particular you have special handouts (beyond stimulus) for workers and employers to get paid to stay home and not hire workers respectively. Not sure if these payouts ceased yet or not.

Yes, that was the most recent “major” reform, and yes, Clinton did have it forced on him, despite his best efforts to prevent it from happening. Congress passed it once and Clinton vetoed it. Congress then made some changes to the bill, designed to make it more appealing to Clinton. He vetoed it again. At that point, Gingrich made the bill significantly “worse” (from the Democrat/Progressive viewpoint) than either of the first two versions, and Congress passed it a third time. By then, it was mid-1996 and Clinton had to choose between standing with his “political base”, or putting his signature on a piece of popular legislation. If you have any idea of what kind of person Clinton is, you know full well which side of the fence he landed on. I still remember the bitter reactions of some left-wing people at Georgia State when he did that.

Given how the Dems policies are to always give “free” handouts, I can only assume their plan is to dribble out “free” handouts to keep those folks beholden to the great benevolent Democrats………always give them a fish instead of teaching them to fish. Despicable.

Let’s see…I can sit on my porch and the government will give me $250 a week, or I can go work for minimum wage (I squandered my education) and tak home about $250/$300. I think I’ll sit on the porch - screw working……..
