Is pot bellied Gretch running again? What a nightmare it would be living in a state with cold snowy weather and that buffoon running the state w/ her overbearing lock downs.

Not everyone in the Michigan GOP was happy about catering to the "deranged narcissist" -

"feckless, cowardly party 'leaders' have made the election here in Michigan a test of who is the most cravenly loyal to Donald Trump and re-litigating the results of the 2020 cycle."

I wholly agree with shere khan. This is good news, perhaps not for Michigan but certainly for the nation.

Michigan, like Virginia, is a mostly blue state - - with election outcomes dominated by its progressive urban precincts. In 2021, blue Virginia Republicans swept into power, taking the governorship, lieutenant governorship, attorney general and general assembly. Stunning outcome, which happened in an elections in which Republicans opted to put a lid on the Trumpist noise.

In 2022, the comparably demographic Michigan will get to put to the test the opposite: whether a Trump-forward ticket can reproduce the same results. It certainly should, given how much worse the Biden disaster has become in 2022 than it was in 2021.

If Michigan sweeps Republican in 2022, annoying guys like me probably ought to take note and cool it on the anti-Trump stuff. (I can’t promise that I will, but all you very smart posters will then be able to link to this post.) If not, we’ll then maybe just perhaps the Trump persona is not the political positive that so many of you claim it to be.

You won't be after the votes are counted.

Which votes? The ones that are counted where you kick observers out and cover the windows like last time when the state needed to make up over a quarter million votes?

You're such an ignorant clown, and a blatant liar. 03-lmfao

There you go with that whole projection thing again.

RE: Michigan: Trump candidates win
I want republicans to focus on one thing in 2022 and 2024--candidates who can win, in every branch at every level.

If that's Trump and his surrogates in some places, so be it. If not, so be that.

But the critical thing is to overthrow the democrats everywhere possible. Because failing that, stick a fork in freedom and liberty and free market economy in the USA. Not because republicans do a good job defending those things. They don't. But at least they are not in full-blown attack mode against them.

And as Reagan said, when the USA goes, there won't be anywhere else to run to.

Why, because he's black? 03-yawn

Meanwhile...sounds like he might go through some things...

Quote:The most serious allegations, however, center around Craig, the former Detroit police chief who has led early polls of the GOP gubernatorial race but, like all candidates, has not yet been guaranteed a spot on the ballot.

"Michigan statewide elections have never seen a set of petitions as flawed as those of James Craig," attorney Mark Brewer, former chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party, wrote in a 145-page complaint filed with the state on Tuesday.

Among other things, Brewer provided examples of what he called "obvious forgery" on 6,933 signatures, and he argued another 1,895 signatures filed by the Craig campaign should be invalidated because of defective circulator certificates.

Craig last week submitted 21,000 signatures, but Democrats are challenging a total of 9,652, including 30 from allegedly dead voters.

Quote:Michigan Strong, a super PAC supporting Dixon [R], also reviewed Craig's nominating petitions and urged mass invalidation, challenging more than 7,000 of his signatures.

“The combination of incompetence, invalidity, unregistered voters, and apparent fraud means that there is a strong probability that Craig submitted insufficient signatures to qualify as a Republican candidate for governor — and it’s likely that the Craig campaign knows it,” Michigan Strong spokesperson Fred Wszolek said in a statement.

It's easy to blame Detroit but my counties Kent & Ottawa swung hard to the Left in 2020. Suburbs here very Blue in 2020.

That's Justin Amash country. Was his falling out with Trump a significant factor?

When you make everyone either a friend or an enemy, you end up with some enemies you don't want as enemies.

Anyone who thinks Kent County is a Republican strong-hold isn't living in the current times. Kent is losing its Redness, has flipped back & forth since 2008 at federal & state levels. The GR suburbs were pretty Blue here in 2020, an issue nationally. What were probably once Ford or Bush neighborhoods had Biden/Harris signs.

Ottawa is harder to explain. I think Holland is becoming increasing minority, which is probably cutting into it a bit. But Ottawa & Kent are closely tied. I guess as Kent goes, Ottawa follows.

I bet a lot of the Reformed churches didn't like Trump's mean tweets. I think the Hope College network probably swung Ottawa to the left. (usually considered a 'Right' or 'conservative' institution, but I could see a lot of the network having a problem w/ Trump the person. I've attended RCA churches. There's some pretty liberal & moderate congregations)

And that might be relevant, IF you're saying they have misreported the story. Was Rep. Matt Maddock not expelled from the Michigan GOP House caucus? Has the Free Press misquoted the House Speaker's spokesman?
